Happy National Lemonade Day!

Today is a great day around the nation. It is National Lemonade Day! I have decided to actually celebrate it his year and treat our whole team to…you guessed it…LEMONADE! Now, I didn’t want to serve just any lemonade. It had to be the perfect lemonade, as it is National Lemonade Day. I headed to our local supermarket and started my search. Come join me down memory lane:

On my first stop, I came across this monstrosity:

No Thanks! Nothing about this made me think “Refreshing” 

Then I came across this:

Nice try Best Choice, different package, same crappy Lemonade.

There is where I almost give up:

There is no way I can serve this powder to my technicians.

Finally, I came across something promising:

Now…I can at least serve this to people.

Satisfied with my lemonade choice, I head to the checkout counter. On my way to said counter, I spot these out of the corner of my eye:

Hmmm… this could be interesting. Lemonade, made from real lemons?

So I make the decision to make my own lemonade on the spot. GULP… this is a first for ma and I am not going to be able to do it in the comfort of my own kitchen.

I head into the office and get started in the Mission Repair kitchen:

1 Cup Sugar, 1 Cup water on low heat until sugar dissolves.

Meanwhile:

Roll the lemons to help release the juice.

Squeeze and discard lemons.

You will need to squeeze until you get 1 cup of juice.

By this time, my sugar has devolved:

Simple Syrup!

Add the lemon juice, syrup and 4 cups of water, chill and enjoy!

This is honestly the best lemonade I have ever tasted!

Everyone enjoyed the store bought lemonade and my Mission Repair brew was a hit!  We love to do things like this around the office and I encourage other small business to do the same. Take some time, have some fun and give your employees some lemonade! Now, BACK TO WORK!
