A little sightseeing doesn’t hurt.

Hello there friends,

I’m out here in Colorado this week working with my crew and making a changes and working with Chris our store manager. After my trip to the Otterbox headquarters last night, I decided to jump on my motorcycle – I brought it with me, I knew this might happen;-) I headed up into the mountains while there was still some daylight left.

I made it to Central City, and it was on May 6, 1859, John H. Gregory located, staked, and preempted the first mining claims in what was to become known as the “Richest Square Mile on Earth.”

This spot, marked by the Gregory Monument, is near the city limits of Central City and Black Hawk. The area was originally called Gregory’s Diggings, but very soon became known as Mountain City. Did you know Central City nearly became the Colorado state capital? It is also home to the Gilpin County Museum, Teller House and the world famous Central City Opera.

It’s also known for it’s “left-over” ruins from times past; I rode up onto some dirt roads and stopped to take a lot of pictures. I thought this one was particularly cool:

It’s an old mine ore car that’s been sitting for a hundred years or more. I don’t know why, but these types of things really appeal to me. It was so quiet it was kind of creepy…and I kept looking over my shoulder!

Once I got back to lay down for the night, I got 10 hours of solid sleep and feel like a million bucks this morning. Must be that mountain air, right?

Well, I’m back in the office here in Lakewood this morning, so if you stop by I’ll be sure to say hello. Thanks for reading!

Take care, Ryan

Is the iPad “MEGA” on it’s way?

Hi there,

I’m not sure if you follow the rumor mill or not when it comes to Apple products, but there’s a buzz about a 12.9″ iPad that may hit this year. Apple’s iPad kickstarted the tablet craze and recent rumors suggest the world’s most valuable company has an even bigger one on the way.

According to an online report from Taiwanese blog “DigiTimes”, components for a 12.9″ iPad are being readied for Apple to take delivery in September.

However, because demand for tablets is slowing, the technology giant has lowered its initial supply order.

So while a larger iPad could be available by the end of the year, you might not necessarily be able to get hold of one – Apple had a similar delay for the launch of the Apple Watch, although that was due to not being able to get hold of enough components in the first place.

Apple’s current iPads are either 9.7-inches (iPad Air and iPad Air 2) or 7.9-inches (iPad mini 3 and iPad mini 2).

It’s exciting to think that the electronics giant will be adding a new form factor to the lineup, which means that we here at Mission Repair will be adding it to our iPad repair lineup as well.

I remember thinking that no one would want a huge iPhone like the iPhone 6 Plus; but clearly I was wrong. So I’m going to take a new approach to the new “iPad Mega” (that’s what I’m calling it anyway) and say that I’m POSITIVE that consumers will love it. I’d suggest just keeping it out of the hands of your 3-year old. . .it’s going to take two GROWN UP hands to handle this one! We’ll see…

Happy Tuesday, Ryan

iPhone Repair in Denver.

Hello friends, we’ve got a lot going on with our new Mission Repair stores, and in fact very soon my Lakewood, Colorado location will no longer be the “new kid on the block”. We are finalizing plans to place our newest location in Indianapolis (well, a suburb of Indianapolis) and are making plans to move in soon!

Our Denver location (which is technically located in Lakewood), has been buzzing lately, and we are in the final stages of getting our new sign installed. I didn’t really realize all that goes into have a lit sign built, this is my first full retail spot after all 😉 here’s a mockup of what it will look like:

So it appears that it’s on track to by installed and the official “lighting” ceremony will be sometime just after the 4th of July, I’ll be there to snap a few pictures and share them with you!

Until then, just remember that we are taking walk-in repairs daily at our Lakewood location and of course if you send in a repair from anywhere in the country WEST of Denver, your deivce will automatically route to this location. It’s working perfectly!

Thanks for hanging in there with us, we appreciate all of your business. We have customers now waiting for our Indiana Repair Center to open, we will be happy to announce it soon!

Take care, Ryan
