Got Repair: Because You Never Know When It Will Happen Again!

Hello M:R Nation –

Forgive my long title, but that statement has never rang truer for one of our recent customers. After having an iPad repaired with us, this customer picked up said repaired iPad and went along their way. As they were approaching their vehicle, the iPad slipped out of their hand and once again, the iPad was cracked! This was a major shock to all of us. Never before had we seen a need for our Got Repair services in such a quick fashion. We felt super bad for this customer and waived the repair fees on the other damage that the drop had produced and the Got Repair fee covered the rest.

While we have never seen it happen so quickly, we hear of these stories all of the time. This is the very reason why we created this program a few years ago during a lunch break at one of our favorite Indian buffets. I will never forget the conversation that Ryan and I had. It all stemmed from dealing with a customer that had a device repaired with us just days prior and was back again for another screen repair on the same iPhone 3GS.  We thought, there has got to be a better way of doing this. It just didn’t feel right… so we changed it and Got Repair was born!

For those of you new to Mission Repair and our Repair Blog, let me explain what “Got Repair” is:

  • Think of it as ”The Real Lifetime Warranty”.  Check the competition.  When they offer lifetime warranties, this doesn’t include breakage again on the part you had repaired.  What good is a lifetime warranty on a piece of glass that only fails when it breaks?  Our “Got Repair” program covers re-repairing damaged glass and screens.
  • Think of it as a “Thank You” for coming back to Mission Repair.  If you have your device repaired with us, you already know that it can be broken.  And if you should somehow accidentally or intentionally damage it again, we want you to come back to Mission Repair.  We would make more money by charging you full price but you may decide not to repair your device more than once.  Our “Got Repair” program benefits encourage repeat business with a special thank you to every Mission Repair customer.
  • Think of it as the “New Standard” in which services should be performed. Mission Repair pioneers many programs and we set the standard for the market.
  • Think of it as the opposite of “Insurance”.  Insurance is just that.  You buy insurance “in case” something happens to your unit.  If nothing happens, you still pay.  Additionally, most insurance plans require a deductible and stringent rules to filing a claim.  Our “Got Repair” benefits cost you nothing up front.  Rather, we charge a small service fee for any repeat repair.  You can have the unit re-repaired once or 1000 times, this service fee will remain the same.

You can think of it as many things, but when you boil it down, its simply in place so you NEVER have to pay full price for the same repair on that SmartphoneTablet, or Laptop again! There is no catch.

You automatically qualify for this warranty by using Mission:Repair the first time around and if you decide that you don’t want to pay the lower service fee, we will gladly let you pay full price again :-) Of course I’m joking.

So, if you are trying to choose a service center, please take this benefit into account.

Cheers, Troy

Our first customer at our new retail location…

Hello friends, it was pretty fun. Our first customer at our new retail location was a gentleman by the name of Jim G. (and his wife) that actually stopped in 2 days before we opened as I was “testing” out our open sign.

Screen Shot 2014-03-19 at 8.21.10 AM

The open sign was one of the last pieces to go up; it was a detail after all of the marketing and fixtures went in. I mounted the sign in the window, rolled up the power cord, stapled the cord to the wall, turned it on, and then Jim and his wife came walking in. I was dusty, dirty, tired, and not ready…but Jim and I worked this “first sale” out together! I received an email form him today, this will tell a lot:

Testimonial…

My 3rd grade daughter dropped her iTouch and shattered the screen. I would have taken it to the Apple store for repair, but the atmosphere in Apple stores annoys me, so I typed “shattered screen 5th generation iPod Touch Kansas City” into my web browser search bar. The top result was Mission:Repair. I looked at the hours of operation and realized there was only 30 minutes before they closed and I had a 20 minute drive to get to the store.

We made it to the store with 10 minutes to spare. We walked into the establishment to the dismay of the owner and his mother. Why dismay? Well, when I found the store location on the web and I didn’t realize this was a new location and wasn’t yet open. The front door was unlocked so the owners could carry items from their cars into the store, but it wasn’t open to walk-in traffic.

So… We walked in, and apologized for showing up so late in the day, but needed to get my daughter’s iPod repaired. The owner explained they open for business on Monday (March 17), but he was excited I found the store and helped me despite the fact they weren’t actually open for business. He had his sales/order system up and running, so he was able to put me into the system and get a ticket for my order, but since the store wasn’t fully functional he couldn’t print the ticket (he was able to email it). He apologized for not having “something to give me saying he had our iPod”, but it wasn’t a big deal as I had already received the email on my phone. He told me he would be in and out of the store over the weekend and would have the iPod for me the next day, Saturday (as I later would find out, they offer next day service on all iPod and ITouch repairs).

We went back to pick up my daughter’s iTouch and was thoroughly impressed with what happened next. The owner’s wife was there and she was so grateful to us for being their “1st customer” at the new location. She then explained how she and her husband wanted to offer us a significant discount on the repair and also gave us three gift certificates to help spread the word about their company. We told her we would absolutely spread the word as their customer service went above and beyond what anyone should expect from the owner’s of store that is not officially open. Hoping we don’t require anymore repairs to our devices, but if we do, we will definitely be using Mission:Repair!

Deal Of The Week!

Hello M:R Nation –

With Memorial Day behind us and hints of an emerging summer all around, we at Mission Repair are readying ourselves for the summer rush! Kids are finally done with school, schools are finally done with kids, and parents are once again pulling their hair out ;-)…

During the summer, schools take this time to repair all of those broken devices that have accumulated from the previous year. Parents are put to the task of safeguarding their and their children’s devices from dreaded drops and swimming pools and Mission Repair likes to reinstate our famous Deal Of The Week!

What is our “Famous Deal Of the Week”? It’s very simple, every week we choose a popular service and discount it heavily. This is a huge help to parents out there and we couldn’t be happier to do it!

What Is The Deal?

This weeks “Deal Of The Week” includes two of our all time top services, the 4th Gen iPod Touch BLACK Front Glass & LCD Repair and 4th Gen iPod Touch WHITE Front Glass & LCD Repair! We have taken 22% off the top, making this service only $69.00 for a limited time! So what changes with this “cheaper” service? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! We will use the same quality parts, same top notch speed and take the same care we take when completing a repair at “regular price”. Lets just say this is our way of saying “Welcome to Summer”!

So with that, I have many emails and other form of messages to catch up on. I hope everyone enjoys the remainder of their short weeks and I will talk you again soon!

Cheers, Troy
