Throwback Thursday: The iPod Photo

As a repair center for iPods, Smartphones, Tablets and Laptops, we see a lot of different devices everyday. The most fun ones are the ‘vintage’ devices that come in for repair. Why REPLACE your old device you’ve loved for years, when often times you can REPAIR it for less!

Today we are celebrating Throwback Thursday with the iPod Photo, otherwise known as the 4th Gen iPod. This was the FIRST iPod to feature the revolutionary “click wheel” and was released over 10 years ago. In addition to being an audio player, like other iPods, the iPod Photo allowed users to store color photos. While that doesn’t sound revolutionary to us in 2014, it was an impressive feature at the time. Do you own an iPod Photo? Perhaps it needs to be repaired? Mission:Repair has you covered. Yes, we still services these devices. Click here for a list of our iPod Photo Repair Services.

Happy October!

Hello M:R Nation –

October is here and you can finally break out the Halloween decorations, pumpkin carving kits and take the kids to your local corn maze! The leaves are just now starting to fall and you can tell that a change in weather is coming very soon! I have not found many people that don’t like the month of October, but when I do, its usually because of all the changing that occurs. Change can be difficult to say the least and even if its a change that comes every year, it can still be hard to adapt to. So, to soften the blow of this new month, lets discuss some change that takes no getting used to!

The change I am speaking of is change in price and your fortune! You can never go wrong when the arrow button on pricing is pressed in the downwardly direction and that is exactly what we have done. Through the month of October, Mission Repair will be running multiple specials and slashing many prices! Lets start off with what we already have in place.

This is just a tiny portion of what you will see this coming month, so stay tuned and involved and you just might learn a thing or two , save some serious money and win some cool prizes along the way!

Speaking of prizes, Mission Repair has recently run a giveaway on our Facebook page and we have a winner! Look for a post coming soon announcing the winner and an announcement of our next awesome giveaway!

Cheers, Troy

Walk-In iPod and Smartphone repair services are off the charts!

Hello everyone, how’s your Tuesday afternoon going?

Well I just finished going over and analyzing my monthly numbers and metrics here at Mission Repair and there was a glaring standout…our walk-in business is really rocking. In fact, there are a couple of notable numbers that I can share with you.

1. Cyber Monday (that’s the Monday after the Thanksgiving weekend) is typically our busiest day of the year. Each Cyber Monday is increasingly more busy each year and we’re looking forward to Cyber Monday 2013. However; Monday June 24th, 2013 was our second largest repair order input day in Mission Repair’s history, second only to Cyber Monday 2012. This was an unexpected increase!

2. We had the most walk-in customer repair orders June 2013 in the company history. It appears that we’re really reaching a lot of Kansas City local customers. It’s a fact that any time I visit our reception area there’s at least one customer waiting for their device to be repaired.

3. In the month of June, we had our largest number of Mission Repair Blog Reads in the company history. We are now getting more creative with the blog and you’ll see some awesome giveaways and specials that can only be found here. Let’s face it, 738,000 unique visitors can’t be wrong!

The line moves fast at Mission Repair. Service while you wait!

All of this means that we can continue to drive our costs down and bring more value to our customers. We know that the issue of electronics repairs can be dicey, and there are a lot of non-desirable repair shops in the industry. Do yourself a favor and a little due diligence before you select a service center to repair that cracked iPad or Mac Laptop- you’ll find some surprising results.

In fact, I noticed that one of our biggest competitors was in today because they needed help with a repair. That’s OK, we’ll be friends and if we can help it’s good for everyone!

So what’s in it for you? Tell you what- let’s keep this walk-in flow up…I like to see the parking lot filled. Now until Sunday at 5:00pm when we close, stop on by our service center in Olathe, Kansas and we’ll give you a 15% discount on your next repair if you mention this blog. Just say “Please give me the blog discount” and Katie, Mathias, Jenny, Krys, Tayler, Leon or any other employee that you encounter will be happy to accommodate. Remember that this discount is only valid July 3rd, July 5th, July 6th, and July 7th, 2013. Tell them that I sent you directly 😉

Ok, I’m going to finish up for the day. I can’t believe that the 4th of July will be here soon. I’ll be back tomorrow with a fantastic 4th of July special that you’d expect from a guy that likes to keep things fresh…that’s me!

Take care, Ryan

First Day Of Summer Special!

Hello M:R Nation –

I come to you today with split emotions. My San Antonio Spurs were defeated last night in the epic game 7 of the NBA finals. It is funny how many people in the office suddenly became Miami Heat fans once they knew of my affection for the Spurs. I hosted Lennie, our shipping/receiving manager and aforementioned “Miami Heat fan” for a nice pizza and a couple of adult beverages. We had a great time and were able to discuss some of Mission Repairs big plans for the summer. Which brings me to the happy emotion that I am experiencing. Today is the first day of Summer!

Summer solstice

Sure, school has been dismissed for weeks now, but Summer doesn’t officially begin until the Summer solstice which usually hits around June 20th-21st. The Summer solstice occurs when the tilt of a planet’s semi-axis, in either the northern or the southern hemisphere, is most inclined toward the star (sun) that it orbits. Earth’s maximum axial tilt toward the sun is 23° 26′. What does this mean? It means for a long and sunny day. It also means the hotdogs, hamburger, swimming pools, beer, bugs and so much more!

So to celebrate this under appreciated day, we at Mission Repair have decided to release a 15% coupon that will last until Sunday night! Thats right, we are saving you more money and giving everyone 15% off your entire purchase! Order that Touch 4 screen repair that you have been putting off, or that iPad 2 glass that your toddler unceremoniously walked across yesterday.

The coupon code to use at checkout, over the phone or in person is summer13. This will last until Midnight on 6/23/13, so get those repair started asap!

Cheers, Troy
