PLEASE! It’s worth the effort.

Hello there and good morning friends,

I wanted to talk about another scenario that is worth thinking about when you send your device into us; while we take in mail-in repairs every day from across the USA, there are times that the delivery driver makes mistakes. Take this package that we received recently for example:

IMG_2601

No, there isn’t an accordion in this box, there was actually a Microsoft Surface 2 in there that somehow miraculously wasn’t damaged more than expected. A good amount of bubble-wrap took care of that.

But this is a reminder then when you send in your devices, it’s just a good idea to add “replacement value insurance” on your package in case it arrives in worse condition than this one did. We all know that things can happen, and our shipping carriers are not perfect.

Check out out shipping instructions page if you want to see what we really recommend.

I just want to make sure that your repair goes smoothly! 😉

Talk to you later, Ryan

Remember Mission Repair’s 20% repair sale for all new walk-in customers today from 6:00am to 2:00pm.

We’ll see you here, it’s a lot of fun!

It’s a sign.

Hello there, good morning blog readers!

Good news about my new location in Colorado, and we’re now officially “Finished” with this site. The new sign went up on Saturday!

missionrepairsign

I know, it’s just a sign. However this is a new venture for me because normally our signs are pretty simple and constrained by the city in which we reside, or the building limitations, or some other factors.

My Corporate headquarters and flagship retail store in Lakewood Colorado has what I would consider a “real” sign that’s LED lit and ready for action!

The process is not an easy one; personally I take business signs for granted and don’t think twice about them when I see them. Now that I’ve been in the “sign market” for about a year ordering, designing and having signs installed on our Mission Repair locations, it’s a task all in itself!

At this location, the fruits of my labor have paid off, and we can put this project to bed. See you in the store!!

Take care, Ryan

200,000 people can’t be wrong!

Greetings friends-

This is just a short post as I’m looking through our database – we passed 200,000 completed repairs today. That puts us into a new category in my book. . .and reaching milestones like this at my business is just a fun way to get a little personal “reward” without asking for it. The numbers speak for themselves!

Thank you to all of our customers. 200,000 repairs and counting!

Thank you to all of our customers. 200,000 repairs and counting!

So who cares? Well I do, and for those customers that are shopping around for a reputable business to care for their trusty electronic device at least you know that Mission Repair is servicing real volume, and after seeing hundreds of thousands of cracked iPhones and iPads in the last 7 years, we have really gotten to know our stuff 😉

Thanks for reading, this is more of a pat on the back to all of my employees that have stayed strong and that believe in what we’re doing here at Mission Repair. It’s what we do.

Take care, Ryan

Looking for a coupon?

Hello everyone- we sent out a newsletter yesterday to our local region, and if you missed it, we’ve got the special right here for you.

mission

We are offering 20% off on any repair now through Friday at closing time (which is 7:00 pm, CST) if you visit our location in Mission, Kansas. The address is 5604 Johnson Drive, Mission Kansas 66202, and you can get directions here.

Please note that this is NOT valid on mail-in orders; don’t worry for all of our customers in other areas of the country we will make sure to offer you a special shortly. Rather, this is valid on new walk-in repairs at our newest store. Why? We are celebrating the “near” completion of the downtown district redesign and if you remember the “old down town”, you’ll see that the streets have been improved, the sidewalks are wider and well designed, and the parking is much better. This store of ours is downtown in a great location and now you don’t need to walk through a construction zone to get to it 😉

It’s a customer appreciation sale and all you need to do to get this special pricing is print out a copy of this blog (or the newsletter if you’re a subscriber), walk in to our Mission Repair Express location now through tomorrow evening at 7:00pm, show your customer service representative this special and place your repair order to receive the 20% discount.

Thank you.

Ryan

Own a “vintage” phone?

Hello friends, I just watched a video on CNN.com that talked about the fad of owning and using a “vintage” cell phone. This was work related, so watching videos while at work is ok in this situation 😉

Apparently there is a new trend in cell phones – one that is making it “cool” to use an older, greyscale, non-smart phone as a sign and symbol of the times. I think that I might be one of the users that would quite possibly lean toward a “less-smart” smartphone – personally I’ve got so many means of communication with the outside world including through this blog I’m writing, that my cell phones seem to be on “offense” at all times. Yes, I have 2 phones, both set up and designed for very different purposes. Gulp.

In fact, I recently removed my email from my iPhone altogether and I’m a much happier man for it. I know, it’s strange…I just wait until I get to the office!

vintage

I find it a bit distracting when I’m out at a restaurant and see everyone swiping their phones; reading, texting, gaming or whatever. In my opinion it’s not a bad idea to take a break from the technology and look up once in a while.

UK manufacturer, Binatone, is making a new “Brick” phone. That’s right, it’s similar to the one that in the picture above, but it’s actually new and you can buy them now. Simple technology and a fashion statement to boot that come in several colors. There’s a caveat – you won’t get the smartphone experience. Not being able to Tweet or visit Facebook might freak you out for a minute but let’s face it, what did you do before Twitter and Facebook were around?

There’s a plus to older phones. Not only are they nostalgic but with the lack of a full-face glass screen they seemed indestructible. I can’t tell you how many times I dropped my old Blackberry on the ground and it NEVER failed. One drop of an iPhone and you’ll need to send it into us for glass repair. It’s how and why we are in business.

Are you willing to lose your smart features? Well that’s your call – no pun intended.

Happy talking, Ryan
