Back from lunch…

Here’s my view as I pulled up to the Mission Repair Store in Lenexa…and there’s no where to park! This is a great problem for us to have. I know that blogging about parking spaces may seem a little odd but it’s an interesting result for us.

We’ve been in the building for less than 2 months but it’s obvious that the location and our online marketing are working to some degree. We haven’t even yet gotten our monument sign out against the highway installed, so it appears that our customers are accepting the accessibility and new location. Whew. That’s always scary when making the decision to move into a new space!

So, should I just ride my motorcyle in so I could “squeeze” in to park somewhere? Well if my worst problem is parking, I’ll be happy to take that issue 😉

Thank you for all of the visits and business, we’re working (what feels like) around the clock to make sure we stay ahead of schedule and ahead of the curve.

Talk to you later! Ryan

I’ve learned a little more about blogging lately…

Hello blog readers,

One of the main points that I learned today was this:

Every Monday at 10:00am is our busiest “read” time. That means that 17% of my almost 1 million viewers reads the Mission Repair Blog at the very beginning of the week. I’m not sure how that stacks up to other blogs that are out there, but it’s certainly on the “to do” list for most people early.

Why do insights like this seem important and relevant to me? Of course I want to provide news, info and specials at the beginning of each week. I’ve been in the habit lately of writing blogs and scheduling them so they spread out a bit (another tidbit that can help any new blogger out) so that content isn’t just flooded when the author feels creative.

Since this blog is geared around my business, Mission Repair, it’s appropriate to give our specials and deals at the beginning of the week (which I will do) rather than at the end of the week (which we’ve been doing). For sure after so many years of writing and hearing feedback from our customers we certainly have a lot of data. It’s time to put that data to good use.

Speaking of writing, my publisher has asked me to write another book to add to the “How To” section at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. My last publication “How to Start a Home Based Computer Repair Business” was a hit (well, it did’t make the New York Best Sellers list), but there’s a point to where a book is called “successful” and we reached that goal.

The third tidbit today: I didn’t wake up one day and say “I’m going to write”. It’s come over years of work and thought, which has grown into a “professional” status. Are all of my blogs fun, interesting and relevant? Naw, but they can’t all be winners. It’s about determination and dedication and hitting the mark every once in a while 😉 I’ll be here.

Thanks again for reading, happy Tuesday morning…

Ryan

Yay…it’s Monday afternoon!

Hello again folks,

It’s a “slammin” day at Mission Repair today, and we’re taking what appears to be a record number of orders on this fine 6th of July. The day started off like any other Monday, but we’re reaching a few more customers than ever before.

Additionally today, we received a new lease to a new location here in the Kansas City area to expand our “home base” so to speak. This new location will not only have shipping and receiving capabilities, but it will boasts a huge 20′ sign that is directly against the main highway here in Kansas City, I35. If you’re one of the 120,000 cars that pass it every day, you won’t miss it.

So now I’m in the preparation mode of moving, shifting, hiring, and restructuring a few things so we can more efficiently serve our customers. With this new location that is just about directly in between my Olathe, Kansas store and our Mission, Kanas location…we will be poised to help the “drive in” for about a thousand customers a month.

In fact, I’m sure that this new location will make some of my employees happy because most of them live in the area of the new site. This must mean that we will be hiring at Mission Repair in Olathe soon! I’d bet on it!

Small business ownership is an interesting way to live your life, and when it’s difficult at times, it’s the most rewarding at others. Its kind of like having kids. The “highs are high” and the “lows are low”. Like a roller coaster that you can’t get off 😉

So we’re heading up the hill again and I have my hands raised in the air waiting for the big drop and excitement that’s ahead. Clank-clank-clank (that’s my roller coaster sounds climbing up the hill) and away we’ll go.

I will be announcing our new location in Kansas very soon, and we’ll be open faster than you think. Oh yeah, someone asked me about our Indiana location this morning and I wanted to let you know that I’m heading back to Indianapolis to bring the best iPhone repair center to the metro area…we’ll be there next week.

Back to work for me. It’s only 4:00pm and we’ve got a long afternoon ahead of us. Talk to you again soon.

Ryan
