Obsolete Apple repairs? That’s not even a consideration at Mission Repair.

Good morning friends,

Did you know that on June 9th, 2015, the products listed below will be classified as either vintage or obsolete in the United States and other countries; you’ll no longer be able to receive support from Apple or the Apple Retail stores:

  • Airport Express Base Station
  • iMac 2007
  • MacBook Pro 15″ 2.4/2.2 GHz
  • MacBook Pro 17″ 2.4 GHz
  • XServe Late 2006
  • XServe RAID Late 2004
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 3GS

This will concern and affect millions of people in the US and abroad (if you’re in California, you might have a little more time); and we see a lot of iPhone 3GS still come through Mission Repair on a daily basis.

All of the products above will officially move to their new status on June 9, 2015, and no longer be supported for repair by Apple Stores or authorized resellers, but Apple continues to offer support by phone for AppleCare customers.

Never fear, this doesn’t mean that you’re lost if something happens to your trusty device.  You can simply give us a call at 866-638-8402 and we’ll be happy to help you with that “obsolete” or “vintage” device.  That’s why we are here.

Take care, Ryan

Got Repair: Because You Never Know When It Will Happen Again!

Hello M:R Nation –

Forgive my long title, but that statement has never rang truer for one of our recent customers. After having an iPad repaired with us, this customer picked up said repaired iPad and went along their way. As they were approaching their vehicle, the iPad slipped out of their hand and once again, the iPad was cracked! This was a major shock to all of us. Never before had we seen a need for our Got Repair services in such a quick fashion. We felt super bad for this customer and waived the repair fees on the other damage that the drop had produced and the Got Repair fee covered the rest.

While we have never seen it happen so quickly, we hear of these stories all of the time. This is the very reason why we created this program a few years ago during a lunch break at one of our favorite Indian buffets. I will never forget the conversation that Ryan and I had. It all stemmed from dealing with a customer that had a device repaired with us just days prior and was back again for another screen repair on the same iPhone 3GS.  We thought, there has got to be a better way of doing this. It just didn’t feel right… so we changed it and Got Repair was born!

For those of you new to Mission Repair and our Repair Blog, let me explain what “Got Repair” is:

  • Think of it as ”The Real Lifetime Warranty”.  Check the competition.  When they offer lifetime warranties, this doesn’t include breakage again on the part you had repaired.  What good is a lifetime warranty on a piece of glass that only fails when it breaks?  Our “Got Repair” program covers re-repairing damaged glass and screens.
  • Think of it as a “Thank You” for coming back to Mission Repair.  If you have your device repaired with us, you already know that it can be broken.  And if you should somehow accidentally or intentionally damage it again, we want you to come back to Mission Repair.  We would make more money by charging you full price but you may decide not to repair your device more than once.  Our “Got Repair” program benefits encourage repeat business with a special thank you to every Mission Repair customer.
  • Think of it as the “New Standard” in which services should be performed. Mission Repair pioneers many programs and we set the standard for the market.
  • Think of it as the opposite of “Insurance”.  Insurance is just that.  You buy insurance “in case” something happens to your unit.  If nothing happens, you still pay.  Additionally, most insurance plans require a deductible and stringent rules to filing a claim.  Our “Got Repair” benefits cost you nothing up front.  Rather, we charge a small service fee for any repeat repair.  You can have the unit re-repaired once or 1000 times, this service fee will remain the same.

You can think of it as many things, but when you boil it down, its simply in place so you NEVER have to pay full price for the same repair on that SmartphoneTablet, or Laptop again! There is no catch.

You automatically qualify for this warranty by using Mission:Repair the first time around and if you decide that you don’t want to pay the lower service fee, we will gladly let you pay full price again :-) Of course I’m joking.

So, if you are trying to choose a service center, please take this benefit into account.

Cheers, Troy

Got Repair?

Hello M:R Nation –

We receive a lot of requests per day to explain what our “Got Repair” Lifetime  Warranty actually is. Please allow yourself a few moments to read some of the information below…

Hello M:R Nation –

Mission Repair is made up of over 40 collective years of experience when it comes to iPhone repair. We pride ourselves on this number and it grows everyday. On a personal note, I can still remember when we waited in line overnight for the original iPhone, once it was in our hands, we quickly disassembled it, mastered reassembling it and the rest is history!

As long as there are iPhones, there will be a need for repair. Mission Repair is a great avenue for iPhone repair for many different reason. Lets take a look at why it is a great idea to choose Mission Repair when deciding on a repair center for your iPhone repair needs.

  • Dollar focused – We try very hard to always give the best prices. We are humans too and know that living is hard and making a living is even harder. We take this into consideration when setting a price on a repair service. If you search on Missionrepair.com  or coupon websites, you are bound to find some great coupon codes as well!
  • Our Warranties are among the best in the industry with a 1 year on all of our screen repairs and lifetime on our battery services!
  • People love us – A lot of our business is word of mouth and we work extremely hard for that! Our customer service is second to none and we treat each customer fairly!
  • Got Repair? This is a benefit unlike any other that you will see and its very simple. If you repair your iPhone with Mission Repair, you will NEVER have to pay full price to repair that screen on that iPhone again! In most cases, we are talking about a 40% decrease in price should you damage your screen again and the best part, its free!  You don’t have to pay a deductible, monthly dues and you are automatically signed up for this, just by using us as your repair center!
  • Quality Parts and service – When you use Mission Repair, you are receiving the best replacement parts and those parts are being installed by technicians that are professionally trained to do so!

Ok, so that was a fairly long list, but it saves you from having to dig through our website. I think the correct answer to the above question is what iPhone screen do we not repair? The answer to that is simple: we repair the all of  ’em! And guess what… Once the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C hit the market, we will be repairing those as well!

Keep in mind that screens are just the start of what we offer and just the start of what could actually go wrong with your iPhone. Unfortunately, we have seen every component on an iPhone fail, break, bust and crash at one point in time. Because of this, we decided long ago to be a FULL SERVICE repair center that would not only specialize in screen repair, but in case replacements, headphone jack repairs, camera repairs, dock port repairs, speaker replacements, all the way down to component level repairs on logic boards!

Thats right, if its broken, we can and will fix it! If you have something other than a screen issue, here is a great place to start your search for a remedy: Mission Repair Full Service Repairs!

Let me leave you with this, we understand when you are dealing with a damaged iPhone, its a huge inconvenience and it practically puts your life on hold. The way you communicate, your school work, your job, your entertainment and your treasured photos are all in that iPhone. You don’t want to be without it for weeks. You need it working correctly and you need it back in your hands ASAP! We at Mission Repair know this and will work tirelessly to have your iPhone back in your hands in days, not weeks! If you are in the Kansas City area, we can have it back to you in hours! Now, if we can just finish our teleportation machine that we have been working on for the last 3 years completed, we will set records with our turn around time!

Cheers, Troy

Snowbaru?

Hey M:R Nation –

There is no doubt around the office that I am a Subaru fanatic. Both my wife and myself have driven Subaru’s for years and I personally don’t see a need to buy another type of vehicle. I have a few people in the office that share this very opinion (Justin@missionrepair.com, Phil@missionrepair.com).

Now I know this has nothing to do with iPod or iPhone repair, but hey, its what gets me to the office SAFELY and quickly on days like we had yesterday to conduct business involving iPod and iPhone repair. So in my mind, I can write all day long about this 🙂

A cool picture I snapped last night.

A cool picture I snapped last night.

Above is a pretty cool picture that I shot with my iPhone 5. Not to get too far off track, but did I ever mention how impressed I am with the iPhone 5 camera? If not, just know that I am. In the coming years, I might not need to take a DSLR to a wedding. I’ll just pull out the trusty iPhone 8 and snap away!

Anyway, I see a big, white and empty parking lot with my name on it… or should I say “room to write my name on it”, so I won’t keep you any longer. Have a great New Years Day!

Cheers, Troy
