Well, the time is drawing near. Starting March 12, you will be able to pre-order from the Apple Online Store or reserve an iPad for pickup at an Apple Retail Store. Are you the kind of person that just can’t wait to get the new iPad in your hot little hands? Yeah, that’s me.
I’m sure that I’ll order one. I’m sure that it’ll feel like magic after I open it up. I can’t wait. It’s like Christmas in April, but I have to buy my own present 😉
However there are many speculations on whether we should wait for the future release of the iPad or not. Remember a few weeks ago, we showed you a picture of the iPad frame that we received and it looks like it’s got a spot for a camera? See my earlier blog post titled “iPad Camera rumor becoming a reality? We think so.” Yeah, I think that a camera would be great. Then there are many people that just flat our advise against buying the “1.0” version of any new technology. Maybe you’d want to wait for a USB port. . .or maybe the next revision would have better pricing. I would bet that all of these dreams will come true and more.
However, just like any technology, once you buy, you should never second guess yourself. Get what you want, what makes you happy, and live it. If you look back and say “I could have waited and got a better deal” or “The new iPad has a camera and mine doesn’t” you will find yourself in a never ending downward spiral or wanting/wishing/waiting for the next best and greatest thing – unless, of course, technology stops updating. Gulp!
So, where am I at on this? I’m getting an iPad, rev. 1.0. If you want to wait and just share my experience with me, check back on my blog in early April. I’ll post pics and thoughts and maybe even a video or two.
Merry Christmas, Ryan
