Santa showed up!

Hello friends, the countdown to Christmas is here!

We had our annual Christmas party last Saturday night. Live band, lots of food and drinks, and even Santa showed up with Mrs. Claus to participate in some holiday fun!

You can spot “Mrs. C” in the background!

This is a great time to get to know your fellow employees…and learn a little more than you might want to know at times ๐Ÿ˜‰

In the picture, of course you know Santa…to his left that’s Chris in our Computer Repair department in Olathe, Kansas. And to his right that’s Kayla in Customer Service up at our Mission, Kansas location.

It was the kickoff to a great “SHORT” week here at Mission Repair, and we had a lot of fun. Next time you call in, I dare you to ask for Melanie, and find out what Santa brought her at the party ๐Ÿ˜‰

Remember that Mission Repair will be closed tomorrow Christmas Eve at 1:00pm, and will reopen Friday December 26th, 2014 at 8:00am. I know, I want to be at work too, but we’re just going to take the time off because it feels right.

Thanks everyone for reading and have a Happy Holiday Season if you can. I know I will!

Take care, Ryan

St. Patrick’s Day…it’s not easy bein’ green.

Sound familiar?

A quote from the great – Kermit the Frog – “it’s not easy bein’ green” has been a theme over at our new location that is due to open on 4/1/14. Why is that catchy Sesame Street song “sticking” do you ask?

We added some “Mission Repair Green” tint to the front glass at Mission Repair Express and when the sun hits the window just right…well…the picture tells a lot below:

It's not easy being green.

It’s not easy being green.

So it’s a bit TOO green. Like emerald green. Everywhere! It feels like you’re swimming in a Shamrock Shake (a McDonalds treat if you didn’t know). The bottom line: Our excitement to add a little color took our “company colors” to a whole new level. We have a solution to fix this “St. Patrick’s Day” hue – so don’t worry. I promise you won’t get queasy if you stop by our new site at our grand opening!

Speaking of grand opening – it’s set for April, 1st, 2014. However we are running a bit AHEAD of schedule and you heard it here first; I am now shooting to be open starting on St. Patrick’s day 2014. A fitting day to commence the GRAND OPENING OF MISSION REPAIR EXPRESS!

So, this is aggressive for us and we’re on the right track. Flooring is going to be installed this weekend then it’s just the final touches that need to be completed. Will it be done? Will we have the luck of the Irish? Irish I was complete with project ๐Ÿ˜‰ A silly pun is all the motivation that I need!

Thanks for all of the interest and calls about our new Mission Repair Express location – the press release will hit soon for the masses to read. But you heard it here first, another reason that check in with us here on the blog.

Thanks friends,
Ryan

So what’s happening today? I’m starting to get a little nervous.

Hello friends-

How are your public speaking skills? I pride myself on being able to hold my own, and I typically enjoy public speaking. I got an A in speech class in High School – Amador Valley High in Pleasanton, California class of “it’s a secret“!

I remember that my final speech – for the big grade – I talked about “werewolves”. Yes, that’s right. I thought that if I picked a topic that was fresh and new and maybe even slightly “odd” that it would keep my audiences’ attention and I would be off to a good start.

It worked.

Werewolf

In college, my topic was “motor oil” in my public speaking class which wasn’t nearly as exciting!

Today, I have been invited to a local High School here in the Kansas City area to give a motivational speech on “What it’s like to be an Entrepreneur”. I happily agreed and booked the spot several months ago. Well my speech is today and I’m going to be honest, I’m getting a little nervous. The teacher that I’ve been working with called me yesterday and said that the speech was moved from the library to the auditorium. That took the anxiety level up a few notches! “Do you want a podium?” She asked. I thought to myself “What am I going to do with a podium?” Ha! I think I’ll do better just walking around and improvising with the group. I’m hoping to get them to interact with me and understand that I’m an OK and non-intimidating guy.

Well, I’ll report back with some pictures and maybe even a snippet or two from the speech. Wish me luck, you know High School students will either love ya or hate ya. I’m hoping not to get eaten alive ๐Ÿ˜‰ If I take the rest of the day off – don’t judge me.

Until then, have a great Tuesday and remember that Mission Repair is here to help. I’ll try to help these kids, and my business is here to try to help you.

Take care,

Ryan
