Is it baseball season already?

Hello there!

I’ve been out of the office for a few days on some personal R&R, and am just now getting back into the swing of these here at my home office.  Yes, I’ll get a chance to sneak in and get some repairs done this evening (yes, even the boss still does a few repairs from time to time) but for now I’m going to get some much needed writing done because so many of you have been asking!

Firstly, how did you enjoy the Super Bowl?  I’m sure that most Bronco fans thought it was spectacular; but I’ve heard from many “non-Bronco” fans that the Super Bowl was “terrible” or “Our team would have won if they were in it” or “Peyton Manning didn’t do anything”.

Well, the fact of the matter is that Denver stepped up as a team and did what they intended to do:  Win on Sunday.  So those that didn’t enjoy the game can just start to look forward to baseball season, right?

If you live in Kansas City and if you like baseball, then you must be gearing up for the 2016 season.  Coming off of the World Series makes things seem bit brighter for them this year.  The defending champs are ready to go (so I hear).

Well, even though the groundhog predicted an early Spring, if you step outside today here in my home town of Spring Hill, Kansas it’s only in the high-twenties Fahrenheit…it’s not time to grab your baseball glove and hit the practice fields yet.  We have a few months to go.

So what should we do this Sunday?  There’s no football on, so it looks like I’ll be caching up on some TV.  What a life.

I’ll be back soon with some Mission Repair info…Ryan

The Tradition Continues!

Hello M:R Nation-

A few years back, I made it a goal to attend the “Spring Game” of my beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers every year until my son is old enough to tell me that he no longer wants to go. I think I have a few more years before he becomes too cool for his old man, so I’ll enjoy it while it lasts. This last weekend, I was able to attend this game and had a great time!

What is a “Spring Game” you ask? It is a scrimmage that most college programs put on for their fans so we can get a little taste of football before the start of a long summer. While many programs do this, only Nebraska has found a way to make it viral experience on a yearly basis. Last year, it produced this moment: Jack Hoffman TD Run and this year, produced this little gem: Bo Pelini and his cat. This has truly become a tradition at the Harris household and I hope to keep it going for many years to come!

What are some of your traditions M:R Nation? If you care to share, send me your responses to coupons@missionrepair.com and enjoy 15% off of your next repair order on me!

Umm…Are You Ready For Some Football 2013 Edition

Hello M:R Nation

I have been unable to hide my excitement around the office for the last couple of days! This happens around the end of August each year. The weather becomes mild, the people of the world become a little nicer and something we in America like to call FOOTBALL, comes back to life! This is an awesome time of the year for us because we have just signed up for a huge campaign of advertising which will be focusing on the Kansas City Chiefs Pre Game show.

In fact, we have several campaigns running now, but the best part is that there are several new commercials being produced as we speak. This means that the fun is about to begin with new creative coming to a television near you!

Mission Repair Loves Football!

Mission Repair Loves Football!

Now this brings a whole new spin to our fandom. We now have a business relationship with the professional football team that we have both cheered for and rooted against for years. It should be an interesting season to say the least.

We all have our teams that we love. It might be college, pro or even a semi-pro team and I find it very interesting how high our expectations are for the teams that we are fanatics of. So for fun, lets get a poll going. The question is: How will do you expect your team to do this season? I can tell you mine right now. The Nebraska Cornhuskers will go undefeated and win the College National Championship…at some point in the next 100 years 🙂

Cheers, Troy

Are these the hands of an iPhone technician?

This weekend I was hanging around the house watching some football- what a weekend of football it was! My goodness there are teams that I think are good then just prove they are not. Then there are teams that are bad, and continue to be bad. I guess it’s the way football goes. You just never know! Anyway. . .

My son Casey was hanging out on the couch with me (we got some good “couch time” together!) and I noticed his hands. . .

I put mine up to his and yes, it’s a perfect match. Are these the hands of a future iPhone Repair technician? I think maybe. Or maybe a future wide receiver for the NFL? I really don’t know yet, but at 13 years old he’s starting to surpass me. . .I can still beat him in a foot race, but something tells me he’s going to be taller than 6’3″. Oh yeah, we’re also wearing the same shoe size (size 12) and I clearly remember my feet still growing in high school. Hmm, is this a product of living in “corn-fed” Kansas? 😉

OK, moving on to business. . .look for us in the news. This week will mark some huge press for Mission Repair. Let me know what you think and keep your eyes open. Happy Holidays!
