7 pound burrito. I kid you not!

Hello there from sunny Colorado!

We are here working at our Lakewood Mission Repair location for a couple of days; gearing up from a new program and making some slight changes to the business.

I lived in the Denver area a few years ago, and most locals already know about Jack N Grill with their world-famous 7lb burrito made with love. I had to buy one for Chris, Lennie and Derrick:

We split it 4 ways and even as a team weren’t able to finish it off. It’s just too ridiculous of a meal to attempt alone; only in America, right?

Lennie did his best putting on a good show and effort:

In the end I still had quite a bit left on my plate. It was a good introduction to these guys that have never lived in the “pain” of trying to put one of these down, and not even Adam from “Man vs. Food” was able to finish it off.

So we had some good laughs, an awesome burrito smothered – in my favorite – pork green chile. It’s worth a try I promise. Just take it from me, don’t try it alone.

OK, back to the grind stone, Ryan

Obsolete Apple repairs? That’s not even a consideration at Mission Repair.

Good morning friends,

Did you know that on June 9th, 2015, the products listed below will be classified as either vintage or obsolete in the United States and other countries; you’ll no longer be able to receive support from Apple or the Apple Retail stores:

  • Airport Express Base Station
  • iMac 2007
  • MacBook Pro 15″ 2.4/2.2 GHz
  • MacBook Pro 17″ 2.4 GHz
  • XServe Late 2006
  • XServe RAID Late 2004
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 3GS

This will concern and affect millions of people in the US and abroad (if you’re in California, you might have a little more time); and we see a lot of iPhone 3GS still come through Mission Repair on a daily basis.

All of the products above will officially move to their new status on June 9, 2015, and no longer be supported for repair by Apple Stores or authorized resellers, but Apple continues to offer support by phone for AppleCare customers.

Never fear, this doesn’t mean that you’re lost if something happens to your trusty device.  You can simply give us a call at 866-638-8402 and we’ll be happy to help you with that “obsolete” or “vintage” device.  That’s why we are here.

Take care, Ryan

Treat that iPhone like a baby.

Hello friends of the electronics world,

The iPhone 6 is the phone I personally use, which translates to “The iPhone 6 is the phone I drop on a daily basis”. With that being said, I have to tell you that I’ve dropped my iPhone 6 several times and it’s HAS broken once. This is my FIRST cracked iPhone since they came out! This was a pretty gnarly corner drop too. I was certain it was finally time for me to use our iPhone 6 Glass Repair Service. I am not doing this on purpose. I really dropped this thing on accident and it usually happens when I forget that I set it in my lap when I’m driving…then get out of the vehicle. SMASH!

You'd better baby that iPhone!

You’d better baby that iPhone!

I have come up with some muscle memory reactions when my iPhone slips out of my hands:

  • Foot Cushion – This seems to be my go to reaction when I drop my iPhone. I simply stick my foot out to cushion the fall. This equates to about a 2″ fall after all is said and done.
  • Quick Grab – More often than not, I am able to catch it mid-fall. This is not a great tip, but hey….
  • Jump And Dive – This is just not safe, but I find myself at times diving for my dropped phone. Yes, I have actually found myself on the floor more than once trying to prevent a crack.
  • Walk On Carpet – When interacting with my iPhone, I will often make a point to do so on carpet. I know this is ridiculous, but I have yet to crack my glass on carpet so I’m adding it to the list.
  • Cover My Eyes – I do this most of the time. Now that I think about it, I’m just a lucky guy that just happens to not drop it the right way most of the time.

But until the day comes again, I will continue with my beloved foot cushion and closed eye method which has worked for me through today.

What’s your method of saving your phone? Let me know!

Of course the bottom line is that if you should happen to crack that screen in the event that one of your acrobatic maneuvers doesn’t work, call us at Mission Repair and we’ll get you fixed up fast. After all, we have been awarded the GOLD AWARD by TOP TEN REVIEWS 6 years in a row for our iPhone service. 866-638-8402.

Take care, Ryan

Lakewood, Colorado Location Will Be Open 2/2/15

This past weekend we had a group of employees travel to our new location in Lakewood, Colorado. They worked hard all weekend long to install the TV in the waiting room, put  up diamond plate and slat wall, and finish painting the waiting room, shipping area and tech room. We are excited to be expanding again and we know the Lakewood, CO location will be success. We are officially set to go and this Mission:Repair location will be open February 2nd, 2015! One of our best technicians will be managing the location and boy is he ready for the move (we couldn’t be more jealous). The scenery around that area is gorgeous and it’s a great place to live and do business.

Be sure to visit us on 2/2 at 3234 South Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80227 and spread the word!

Check photos of the new storefront below and stay up to date on more Mission:Repair locations coming soon by liking us on Facebook, reading our blog or subscribing to our newsletter!

Happy January!

Hello my friends, welcome to 2015. It’s January 5, 2015. 15/15 for those “number people” out there!

This weekend at the Arter house was full of packing and cleaning up after the holiday season. As we looked around, there are about 20 gifts still in the dining room waiting to be delivered. A couple of friends simply forgot to take the items that we gave them a week ago; but we’ve also had 2 family gatherings cancelled due to weather, the flu and other issues that just didn’t make them happen. That means that we are all cleaned up and ready for 2015, but still have a few holiday dinners to attend to. It’s part of the season I guess!

There’s a small issue however; I’m booked for the next 5 (FIVE!) weekends so it appears that I’m going to have to miss out on all of the fun!

Happy New Year 2015

I’m torn during this time each year. From a business perspective, I’m happy that the holiday season is over. We are back to normal work weeks, a lot of vacations are completed, and the “holiday pay” on all of my employees paychecks is almost complete. That’s a great thing!

The selfish part of me wants to go back to short weeks, long “couch” time watching football and television that I haven’t had a chance to watch and simple relaxation time that I don’t normally get.

Additionally we’ve decided to get back into an exercise schedule that works for all of us a family. In fact, we went to the gym yesterday, and we have a Cross-Fit training session tomorrow night at 7:30pm. After picking up some weights last night, I realize how out of shape I am…and of course as many of us committed on New Years Eve, I have a fitness goal this year as well. It’s to net lose 15 lbs, and to bench press 325 lbs. A hefty goal for a man that’s about to have another “40 something” birthday party next week!! I’m all in.

So if you’ve got a lofty resolution for yourself, don’t worry about it…stick with it. I’ll be happy to post my results when I achieve them. Hopefully before boat season!!

Well until then, Happy New Year and I’ll be in touch – I’m leaving for Colorado in a couple of days to begin the move-in process at our newest location in Lakewood, stay tuned for the official Grand Opening coming soon!

Take care, Ryan
