Are you a proud owner of the iPhone 7? You’re probably not taking full advantage of the myriad of photography tools at your disposal with your device.
Apple is here to help as they have shared a new website dedicated to iPhone-photography tips. The site highlights 16 quick and easy how-to videos in efforts to help iPhone users take more beautiful photos with ease. They are tackling a variety of photo-opps such as….
How to shoot a close-up
How to shoot a selfie with a timer

……………the list goes on!
Whether you think you already have it all figured out, or feel like you might be missing out on some time-saving and artsy tricks, Apple’s new site rounds up all of the handiest phone photography concepts into one approachable and exciting page. While the site is dedicated to the iPhone 7, plenty of users of the older iPhone models should find the tutorials to be beneficial. Check out their website today and start snapping photos like the pros from your very own iDevice.
Our marketing department comes up with some pretty clever stuff. Some of the ideas come to fruition and some never see the light of day. Something interesting that came across my desk recently was a play on pet adoption. Instead of a cute puppy or hamster, it utilizes iPads and other devices that we see abandoned here at our Kansas City location. While we might still use this idea, I though it was cute enough to share to our over 800,000 unique blog readers (shameless boast). Here is our “Adopt a device” program in its infancy:
Meet our iPad Mini!
This scuffed up guy once enjoyed playing angry birds, watching netflix and surfin’ the net for new restaurants in the KC area. After being dropped, resulting in a cracked screen this iPad Mini’s owner decided to replace him instead of repairing. This neglected tablet is looking for a forever home and a new LCD Screen! Adopt this iPad Mini and take it home for only $150. (Adoption fee includes new LCD screen and repair costs by our certified technicians!)
Our plan here is to take unwanted devices and offer to you for free and all you would pay is the price that it would be to repair the device. While this sounds like a great idea to us, we would like to test this with our readers. Our goal is to keep these devices out of the land fills and get them out of our building to be completely honest. So what do you think? Would you adopt a device? You have a chance for a low cost device that will last you years to come!
Take a moment and let me know what you think via the above poll.
You did in fact read the title correctly. My iPhone 5 is broken and guess what, I’m not going to repair it :-)! I will let Apple take the reigns on this one. You see, my iPhone 5 is still under warranty and though I would enjoy supporting Mission Repair with some of my hard earned money, I’d just rather have this repaired for free.
When I try to take pictures or a video with my iPhone 5, strange artifacts appear in the shot. It is kind of ghosty if you ask me. So while I am going through this, I might as well review my experience.
I went through Apple as a normal customer (because I am), and it took me some time to figure how to get a box sent to me. It seems every effort is put in place to get me to keep the phone or take it to a genius at my local store. While this is fine, it was a little off putting. I just want to send it out and not think about until I receive it back. I finally figured it out and this is what I received today:
Let the games begin!
I will get this thing shipped out and we will see what happens from there. Keep your eyes peeled for an update on this. My prediction is that I will receive a refurbished unit, so I better back up my data pronto!
Now this whole experience brings up a relevant topic for me to share with our customers and/or soon to be customers. We have made it a habit here at Mission Repair to check on your warranty for you if we receive your device and think it might still have coverage. We don’t want you to spend money if you don’t have to. This is a practice that dates back well into the 1st generation iPod repairs we used to do and we still practice it to this day.
If you have a cracked screen on your iPhone 5 or iPad Mini, its pretty obvious that it will not be covered under warranty. But if you have a newer device and think it might be under warranty and it has no signs of physical or water damage, double check with Apple, you have a good chance of a no cost repair or replacement. So why am I giving you this information? Because I am just like you, I don’t like to spend money when we don’t have to. So please take this tip for what it is worth and we will have your back the next time around when you don’t have that warranty coverage.
Now what am I going to do about a phone for the next few days?
Mission:Repair has a record setting day yesterday and our customer service team just finished icing their ears and fingers. We expect today to be just as busy and they are currently performing some stretches to loosen up for all of your calls ;-)!
With that, we are looking at the end of another year. A year full of goods and bads, firsts and lasts and beginnings and ends for all of us. This was also a year full of great new devices. From Apple to Huawei there has been no disappointment from smartphone manufacturers around the world.
Usually around this time of the year, I like to talk about ringing in the New Year and this year will be no different. However, before I start thinking about 2013, I would love to have one last hurrah in 2012. We will do this by doing what we do best, SAVING YOU CASH!
Our Last Hurrah!
We have 5 more wonderful days of 2012 and there is no better time to save cash than now. Fresh off of Christmas shopping, i’m sure your wallet is a little lighter, just like mine. A less than ideal cash flow situation plus a newly opened Christmas present that just fell out of your hand and cracked is a pretty hard pill to swallow, so let us be your water 🙂 Starting today, we are having a special 5 day coupon that will save you 15% off of your purchase! When you check out, look for the this box: In this box, just type in “NEWYEAR”, click the apply button and BOOM, there is your 15% savings. This discount applies to all of the wonderful new smartphones released this and every other year. So if you find yourself with a broken Samsung Galaxy S III screen, an iPad 2 with damaged glass or a Kindle Fire in need of some TLC, the time is now to save and get those things repaired!
We have grown to love many of Smartphones over the past 2 years and the Samsung Infuse is at the top of our “Love List”. It has been with us through the good times and the bad. It has never failed or faltered as one of our top repairs and we see no change in the coming years.
Released in May 15th, 2011, the Infuse is getting close to 2 years old (which translates to about 100 years in smartphone years) is still receiving the newest software updates and is still holding strong compared to those young bucks like the Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy S III.
I envy the folks that can keep a singular phone for more than a years time. That means I envy ALL of our customers and most people in the world. I have an iPhone problem and I am not afraid to admit it 🙂
Let us keep your smartphone running for years to come. There is no need to buy a new phone just because you have a little crack in yours, send it on over to Missionrepair.com and let us fix it up for ya! Just ask the MANY Samsung Infuse owners that have used our services, they’ll tell you whats up 🙂
It’s me, yet again…are you tired of all of these new service announcements yet:-)? I know, its hard to become tired of my writing. I get it, I am just that good, no need to shower me with compliments.
In all seriousness though, this is something I love to do. I get giddy with excitement every time we create a new opportunity to have people repair instead of replace! This post is no different. I am on cloud 9 and excited to offer out this new service.
Here she is, in all her glory! The Motorola XT894 Droid 4. This is an awesome smartphone and anyone should feel privileged to have it :-).
You see, the best part about Apple is how their products are naturally pressing the competition to create better product. I think this is a direct example of that statement.
We are now servicing this phone and doing so proudly! You can start your order today by clicking the following link: Motorola XT894 Droid 4 Front Glass Repair Service or give us a ring at 866-638-8402, but please, use a different phone than that broken Motorola XT894 Droid 4. We can’t be held liable for lacerations on your ear 🙂
Well, it’s been a dream of mine for about 18 years, and I’m finally doing it! I’m taking lessons to get my Private Pilot’s license and it’s going very well! I kinda feel like I was “built” for flying, or more specifically, piloting an airplane. I just feel like I “get it” and it’s coming very naturally at this point, but I do have an instructor in the right seat so that gives me a little bit of comfort!
My first flight!
Pretty soon, it’ll be PIC Ryan (Pilot in Charge Ryan for you greenhorns out there) 😉
Speaking of flying, my partner Kyle and I will be flying out of the Kansas City area on Friday morning to visit the mothership in Cupertino. Yes, we’re heading out for a couple of meetings at Apple, Inc. and I promise I’ll get a picture of us at Caffe Macs having a bite to eat. This is an exciting weekend for us and we hope to have a prosperous trip. I’m even going to meet a couple of long-time friends (you know- the guys you knew since you were 5 years old). We have a couple of nights to catch up with them as we work on some business deals. I’ll be blogging from California so check back with us to see what’s happening at Apple. (Because I’m gonna ask!)
