13″ MacBook Unibody Glass Removed! Mission Repair can do it!

Hello curious 13″ MacBook Unibody readers! We were successful in removing the glass panel from a screen assembly without destroying it. This is a feat in and amongst some Guinness World Record criteria. I swear 😉

Well, it’s not easy, that’s for sure. We’ve had several customers send their units in that have cracked LED LCD panels, but the glass is in tact. These new Unibody units are so thin and lightweight- it’s awesome. However small “accidents” are causing screen problems for many customers, including LED LCD cracks and glass cracks. The glass is remarkably thin as well!

Removed without damage. Cool!

We are very close to having our glass panels arrive from manufacturing, so soon we’ll be able to drastically reduce the price on this repair and we’ll pass the savings on to the customer, I promise! Until then, we are still performing 13″ MacBook Unibody Glass/LCD Repairs by replacing the entire upper housing and they are working great. Stay tuned for more updates on this repair!

Thanks, Ryan

No, your cracked MacBook Unibody Glass is not covered under AppleCare warranty.

We know it happens and Mission Repair is here to help.  Read below for a few details and a look inside.

At Mission Repair, we’ve been performing this repair by replacing the entire TOP lid of the unit.  This ensures a factory seal between the glass and the LCD inside of the rear housing.  At this point, it appears that it’s the only “right” way to repair your cracked Unibody Glass.  We are working diligently on a new solution and Mission Repair’s replacement glass panels are in the final stages of
