Say hello to the staff!

Hey there everyone- we are making some changes (constantly I might add) to our website and we just added a “Meet the Staff” page. This is going to be a fun page that will allow you see inside of the business that saves the day.

So Marc and Huck volunteered to inaugurate the new page and they have their profiles up. Keep an eye out on the “Meet the Staff” page and we’ll rotate in new employees monthly. Send them an email, they will love it!

Thanks everyone, Ryan

A little bit about Mission Repair, in case you didn’t already know.

Good afternoon everyone. If you’ve been watching the market (like Mac Rumors, Engadget, Apple Insider, CNN, NPR, Wall Street Journal and every other Mac-related blog lately) you might have heard a little about Mission Repair in the last couple of days.

Ryan Arter and Kyle Baccus, Owners

Kyle and I have been working together since 1994, where we began our careers working for a monitor and floppy drive repair shop. Yes, you heard me correctly, ERC was servicing computer monitors and floppy drives in the California Bay Area. The fun part about it was that we immediately began repairing Apple 13″ RGB Monitors and Apple AI (auto-inject) and Apple MI (manual-inject) floppy disk drives. Kyle was the Shipping Manager and I was the Apple Program Manager. . .We worked with the technicians and repaired THOUSANDS of these little goodies. This experience let us expand into the Apple market in which we are proud to be a part of today – I also picked up some super serious soldering skills during my tenure at ERC. Yup, that sounds like a surface mount soldering challenge 😉

After several years of learning and planning, we continued to work together as a team – with a few interruptions in our careers – and a gutsy move out to Kansas City – but always talking and growing our knowledge in the field. After working on iPods, then iPhones and with our thorough knowledge of Macintosh Portables (we are both Apple Certified Macintosh Technicians) we started Mission:Repair with one goal in mind. To service customers in the most professional and “service oriented” way that we knew how. We just treat our customers as we want to be treated. That’s the magic potion!

Are we perfect? Naw. Do we want to be? Sure.

With this mentality in mind, we were able to land (totally independently I might add!) the prestigious “GOLD AWARD” by Top Ten Reviews for 2009 for best iPhone Repair Company. This review certainly solidified our business model and was an excellent testimonial to our dedication and commitment to our customers. Yes, it’s hard work. Yes, our families have had to put up with us. Yes we are rewarded daily by the thank you’s and happy customers.

On behalf of myself, and my partner Kyle Baccus, we invite you to get to know us better. If you’re in the Kansas City area, stop on by our clean commercial facility and we’ll be there. Enjoy a cup of cappuccino from our kitchen. If you’d like to send us an email, you can do that here.

OK, that’s all that I’ve got for now, but I hope this helps you understand us a little better. For all of our friends out there, we wish you a great February (it’s the LOVE month!) and be safe at the Super Bowl party. I think that I’ll be making my famous meatball sandwiches for my kids and loved ones this sunday. . .it’ll be a good day for that! I’m sure Kyle will be spending the Super Bowl with his wife and daughter – he’s also got a new little one on the way, but that’s a whole new blog entirely.

Take care, we’ll back back shortly with some more news and specials from all of us here at Mission Repair.

Best, Ryan

New building is fully occupied!

Whew. . .we are 100% out of our old building and into the new. . .and what a spectacular difference this new space has made! We are not nearly as cramped and we have room to maneuver our staff around without being elbow to elbow. The new “Breakroom 2.0″ is almost completed with full service kitchen, ping pong, 52” flat panel TV with direct TV and xBox 360, foosball and all of the other “necessary” ammenities will be done in the next week or two. We are all very excited for it.

Here’s a shot of Kyle and I “conferencing” at our new conference room table this morning. . .it’s great to have a place to meet throughout the day:

The expanded phone system is working great and we are rockin here at good ol’ Mission Repair on this fine Monday morning. More pics coming very soon, and we’ll be back shortly with some cool Incase specials. Oh yeah, did I mention that we are now a reseller of Incase products? Yeah, that’s pretty cool too!

OK, back to work. (That means me). I’ll be back in touch shortly. . .Ryan
