We’re not just an Apple Repair Center.

Scenario:

A typical day at Mission Repair starts at 8:00 am, the call center starts to light up with activity. “Ring”. We take a customer service phone call from a distressed customer looking for a solution to their problem: a broken smart phone. “Do you fix devices other than iPhones?”

“Why yes we do!”

In fact, Mission Repair has one of the longest line cards in the industry. We are constantly looking for new devices, sourcing parts and adding services to our website each day. It’s our duty to keep the website clean and fresh and make it easy for customers to get the service they need from the repair center they trust. Mission Repair, The Intelligent Choice.

Can’t find a service on our site that you’re looking for? Send our customer service department an email or call 866-638-8402.

My book is complete! Almost.

Hi everyone, any published authors out there? Well there are none here – yet!

I don’t know if you remember, but I blogged several months ago (on July 18, 2012 to be exact!) about being asked to write a book for the Globe Pequot Press titled: How to Start a home-based Computer Repair Business.

My keyboard has been on fire for the last 8 months!

My keyboard has been on fire for the last 8 months!

Since July, I have been diligently working nights and weekends to get it done. In fact, after several “back and forth” edits and revisions with my editor, I received this email from her today:

———————————-
Ryan,

Awesome, thanks! Off to production it goes. I should have first pages for you in about three weeks!
———————————-

What does that mean for me? I have my nights and weekends back! For anyone that has ever written a book of any length (mine is about 70,000 words) I now have a huge understanding of the process and a deep respect for authors unlike ever before. This process is time consuming, tedious, and one must have an attention for detail. There are other parts of being an author that I didn’t really understand until I did it. In fact, I went back through the earlier parts of the manuscript and I had forgotten about some of the things that I wrote about early on. Yikes, where did the time go!

Well 8+ months later, a mild case of carpal tunnel and a new respect for writing, it’s complete. I was told that I’d see the first chapter in “print format” for approval in about 3 weeks before the printing press runs the thousands of copies for Amazon.com.

What’s in the book? Well, if you’re interested in owning your very own version of my company, Mission Repair, I tell you all the secrets and ways to get your business started and running to success. All you need to do is buy the book ūüėČ

Ok then, so a HUGE weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Check this project off the list!

Take care, Ryan

So it snowed in Kansas City yesterday. Just a bit….

Hello everyone, we’re back in the office and at full operations at Mission Repair – almost.

Yesterday was incredible though – in fact Kansas was declared in a “State of Emergency” and even the Kansas Government shut down yesterday due to the Winter Storm “Q” that blanketed us with snow. We actually opened up Mission Repair yesterday and worked until about noon- then we took a vote and the employees wanted to leave for home before the roads got any worse. It was a good decision on their part…

Here’s a shot of my backyard when I got home:

IMG_1856

There’s my two dogs in the background, and that’s about 15″ of snow covering my patio table. It’s the biggest dump of snow that I’ve ever seen since I moved to Kansas in 2001. It was a sight to see! I did use to live in Colorado, which gave me some experience with the snow. In fact, yesterday’s Kansas snow was a “normal” Colorado snow – “normal” in that you’d still go to work or school and Colorado didn’t “shut down”. It’s interesting to see the differences in people’s attitude from different states. Kansas City just isn’t prepared for this kind of weather to hit…

So the airports were all shut down, and we didn’t receive any shipments in from FedEx yesterday. In fact, it’s 10:34am we we still haven’t received any today…but we’ve been told that they will arrive.

Rest assured that we are fully staffed (actually only one employee didn’t make it in today!) and we will get these repairs pumped out as soon as possible.

Thanks for sticking in there with us. This was a strange storm that has seems to have moved on. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Thanks, Ryan

Oh, The Weather Outside Is…Not So Frightful?

Hello M:R Nation –

We are having some interesting weather in Kansas City during the month of January. We finally had our first snow of the winter, the have experienced well below zero temperatures (which is not at all uncommon) and today, it is sunny with the high of 69-72 degrees.

Now, I have lived in this area for most of my life and this has got me scratching my head. Kansas and Missouri are known for their extreme temperatures in either direction, but this is just crazy. I guess we will enjoy it while we can… I hear there is also snow in the forecast for this week!

Time truly flies when you are up to your eye balls in projects to work on. Don’t worry, we won’t let these deter us from coming back here on a daily basis to talk to our favorite people, The M:R Nation!

So watch out this week for specials, discounts and new services pertaining to everything Apple, Samsung, Amazon , HTC and much more.

Cheers, Troy

No Shave November!

Hello M:R Nation –

I have a few blokes here at Mission Repair that were talking about participating in “No Shave November”. The main reason for this is to raise awareness for men’s health, but there have been many tales of its origins. I myself, think its simply an excuse to be lazy and I embrace that!

I have a total of 8 gents that I will be chronicling for the next 4 weeks. I will take a picture of their progress once a week and post it right here on our wonderful blog!

Say Hi to Jake, David, nick, Ryan, Albert, Phil, Justin and Lennie!

So here they are, the 8 brave/lazy souls participating in this storied tradition(I’ll spare you and them of a large sized picture )! As you can see, some of them already have a head start. This should make for some epic beardness for sure! While I sport quite the fancy beard myself, I am not 100% sure that I will let it grow rugged yet. I will keep you updated on that decision.

We like to turn things into a competition around here and this is going to be no different. While I have no idea on how I will decide the winner yet, I do know the prize. I find it a much needed prize to be handed out in this situation. It is a years subscription to the Dollar Shave Club paid for by Mission Repair! I love this company and am a proud member so I can vouch for the prize!

I would like to make this something our readers can benefit from as well, I will also provide a years subscription to the most Epic beard or other hair growth (I know it sounds nasty, but we are about equality here at MR, so men and woman are welcome to join but keep it PG) to one of our brave/lazy readers :-)!

To join the competition, you will need to send in 4 different pictures to troy@missionrepair.com titled NSN Entry and here is what I will need from you:

1) Starting Point Picture

2) Week 2 growth

3) Week 3 growth

4) Final Week growth

By joining the competition, you agree to have your picture posted here on the MR Blog if you are named the winner. Happy November to everyone and good luck on those beards!

please note: This competition in no way, shape or form will interfere with our awesome iPhone, iPod, iPad, Smartphone, tablet, Mac or PC repair services !

Cheers, Troy

New Service: Samsung Droid Charge i510 Front Glass Screen Repair!

Good morning M:R Nation –

With all of this talk of Samsung Stratosphere and Samsung Galaxy S III services¬†going on, I want to make sure we are not ignoring the other great phones that Samsung is pumping out. With many smartphones in their arsenal, the Droid Charge i510 is yet another superstar that has made many people happy. Boasting a hummingbird chipset, an 8MP camera and a “Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen” what is there to be upset about?

One reason to be upset

Well, lets say that¬†“Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen” were to crack on you. I think that justifies a little anger. We unfortunately see this all the time and its a true bummer. Just think about it, we spend more time with our smartphones than with any other object or being and when we have our smartphones in less than ideal condition, it just sucks. There is no other way to put it. Just ask Ryan, he would be happy to share the experience!¬†

Luckily for Samsung Droid Charge owners and owners of most smartphones, Mission Repair exists! We are offering the Samsung Droid Charge i510 Front Glass Screen Repair starting today and will continue to add new services daily! So stop stalling, get that security blanket of a phone repaired back to normal today!

Cheers, Troy
