So it snowed in Kansas City yesterday. Just a bit….

Hello everyone, we’re back in the office and at full operations at Mission Repair – almost.

Yesterday was incredible though – in fact Kansas was declared in a “State of Emergency” and even the Kansas Government shut down yesterday due to the Winter Storm “Q” that blanketed us with snow. We actually opened up Mission Repair yesterday and worked until about noon- then we took a vote and the employees wanted to leave for home before the roads got any worse. It was a good decision on their part…

Here’s a shot of my backyard when I got home:

There’s my two dogs in the background, and that’s about 15″ of snow covering my patio table. It’s the biggest dump of snow that I’ve ever seen since I moved to Kansas in 2001. It was a sight to see! I did use to live in Colorado, which gave me some experience with the snow. In fact, yesterday’s Kansas snow was a “normal” Colorado snow – “normal” in that you’d still go to work or school and Colorado didn’t “shut down”. It’s interesting to see the differences in people’s attitude from different states. Kansas City just isn’t prepared for this kind of weather to hit…

So the airports were all shut down, and we didn’t receive any shipments in from FedEx yesterday. In fact, it’s 10:34am we we still haven’t received any today…but we’ve been told that they will arrive.

Rest assured that we are fully staffed (actually only one employee didn’t make it in today!) and we will get these repairs pumped out as soon as possible.

Thanks for sticking in there with us. This was a strange storm that has seems to have moved on. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Thanks, Ryan

Apple VS Samsung

Good Morning M:R Nation –

With technology moving at such a rapid pace, its hard to keep up with all the new products coming out. Samsung and Apple are constantly at a battle ready stance and regardless of what people might say, this technology race is helping us consumers receive the best products out there.

With Apple releasing new products every year or so and Samsung about every week, I give Apple the edge on out of the box functionality. Most of the time, Apple products and their software just work. I can’t say the same about the other “rushed to the market” products that I have used.I guess you could say I liken Apple to more of a finely aged cheese and Samsung to a slice of kraft singles. Both are great tasting, but I just prefer the older/stinkier option 🙂

Don’t get me wrong, Samsung has stepped their game up considerably in the past year and I can only see them gaining in this technology race. I have mentioned many times of my new found love for Samsung (which you can read about here) and I am not going back on my word. Sure, I received some nice hate mail after my proclamation, but I am standing my ground with a big I LOVE YOU for Samsung.

You might be scratching your head at the moment, saying “How can this bloke love both Apple and Samsung at the same time?” We let me answer that for you. Here at Mission:Repair, we have grown as a company over the last few years. With a progressive attitude, we started to take on more of our customer requests which ultimately led to our massive catalog of services that you see on www.missionrepair.com today. So the answer is simple. I just spent a little time with the products from Samsung and thats all it took.

Regardless of if you have an Apple iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 , HTC Flyer, Motorola Xoom 2, or Amazon Kindle we have you covered. We are an equal opportunity repair center and have an affinity for whatever device you entrust in our care.

Cheers, Troy

iPad Glass Screen Lesson. Cracked = Not Good. Repaired = Good.

Hello everyone, I’ve been scouring the internet doing a little market research and if you’ve been following the blog at all lately, we’ve added a ton of new products and services. My General Manager Troy has really been at it hard finding and creating these new part numbers so we can offer them as soon as we can!

While I was doing my weekly website reviews, I have noticed a couple of our competitors have started adopting our exclusive “Got Repair” benefits (albeit they offer them under a different name) which is good to see. . .I mean, it’s just the right thing to do in this industry. In this business we know that devices are fragile and can crack. They are made of glass 😉

As I’ve said in the past, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…and in this case it appears that even the competition is taking notice, good job everyone! The Mission Repair “Got Repair” program benefits means that if you ever use Mission Repair for your screen repair, and if it ever breaks again even if you drop it, all you need to do is give us a call and we’ll repair it again for you under this program. That’s it.

For example, let’s say you bought yourself a shiny new iPad last week, and then dropped and cracked the screen. I know this can happen, not only is my iPhone 5 currently cracked, but we see over 1,000 iPads in our service center every month with cracked screens- and we’re sympathetic to every one. So you do a little research, love our service, and get your cracked iPad into us for service. We will take the unit in, install a brand new glass panel, test the device through our QA department, and get it back to you just as soon as humanly possible. How soon you ask? We can even do it for you while you wait if you come visit our service lab in Olathe.

You’re back to “happy” again – but then try to imagine if that screen was broken again 😦

I know, it’s an accident, it’s a terrible thing, and you had to have it repaired once – you might even ask “why me”? Well this is where you thank yourself for using Mission Repair to fix your ailing iPad – because we already have you in our system and because we want you to remember us and always use us for your electronics repair needs. So we will repair that same glass panel again and you’ll never pay full price again. It’s a thank you from Mission Repair to you, and it helps ease the pain of a bad situation. Does this mean that you’ll always pay if you ever have a problem with your screen after we repair it? No! The screen does come with a full ONE YEAR warranty against manufacturer defects and we’d be happy to repair it again if something fails under this warranty, and at no charge to you whatsoever!

So remember Mission Repair lesson #213. Cracked iPad Glass = Not Good. Repaired iPad Glass = Good.

Talk to you again soon, Ryan

Mission Repair introduces the MyRewards program! It’s just free money.

Hello everyone!

We announced our dealer service program earlier this week and we have dubbed the dealer hotline at the office the “bat phone” – we are toying with the idea that when it rings a spotlight lights up the sky with a huge “M:R” on it! We have a dedicated line for our dealers, schools and large repair programs to call for specialized service in our dealer department.

Just finalized today, we added our brand new MyRewards program to our dealer page. After I got it done, formatted and installed I realized that I needed to extend this to ALL OF MY CUSTOMERS moving forward. That’s right, every customer that makes a purchase on the Mission Repair website will earn MyRewards points!

This means that when you place an order with us and once we ship your product, we will automatically drop 10 reward points in your account for every dollar spent at Mission Repair!!

MyRewards – easy as clicking this “redeem now” button for free money!

What good is this you might ask? Well, if you ever need a repair again or want to buy a part or an accessory you can redeem your reward points toward a future purchase. It’s easy – all you have to do it click a button, you’re automatically signed up – every customer that registers on our site is a part of the program, and it’s free money.

So our dealers will really enjoy this program because the more they spend the more they save. . .but as I realized that we have so many repeat customers I couldn’t hide the MyRewards program from anyone.

It’s just one more amazing feature about using Mission Repair. We’re the Intelligent Choice!

Take care, Ryan
