It’s a little treacherous out there.

Hi there,

I’m sitting here in my front office at Mission Repair in Lenexa, Kansas and the snow just started to fall.  Soon after, I heard lots of sirens and can see the commotion rumbling just down the street.  The weather is starting to hit us, and the freezing rain is really what is causing the issue.  Cars are starting to slide all over the place!

Here’s a pic out into the parking lot as we speak:

I know that it doesn’t look like much, but that little bit of snow on top of the slick roads makes a dangerous situation.   It looks like I should probably put it into 4 wheel drive for a little while unit the road crews get their act together.

We’ve have several people come in during the “mess”.  I want to remind everyone that we are open until 7 pm, and if is suits your lifestyle to wait until the roads as a little better, then I recommend that you hang tight in your warm houses and offices while KDOT gets the plows up and down the highway.  I bet that by 5 pm today it’ll be just fine to move around the area.

Thanks again and drive safe everyone!

Ryan

Yay…it’s Monday afternoon!

Hello again folks,

It’s a “slammin” day at Mission Repair today, and we’re taking what appears to be a record number of orders on this fine 6th of July. The day started off like any other Monday, but we’re reaching a few more customers than ever before.

Additionally today, we received a new lease to a new location here in the Kansas City area to expand our “home base” so to speak. This new location will not only have shipping and receiving capabilities, but it will boasts a huge 20′ sign that is directly against the main highway here in Kansas City, I35. If you’re one of the 120,000 cars that pass it every day, you won’t miss it.

So now I’m in the preparation mode of moving, shifting, hiring, and restructuring a few things so we can more efficiently serve our customers. With this new location that is just about directly in between my Olathe, Kansas store and our Mission, Kanas location…we will be poised to help the “drive in” for about a thousand customers a month.

In fact, I’m sure that this new location will make some of my employees happy because most of them live in the area of the new site. This must mean that we will be hiring at Mission Repair in Olathe soon! I’d bet on it!

Small business ownership is an interesting way to live your life, and when it’s difficult at times, it’s the most rewarding at others. Its kind of like having kids. The “highs are high” and the “lows are low”. Like a roller coaster that you can’t get off 😉

So we’re heading up the hill again and I have my hands raised in the air waiting for the big drop and excitement that’s ahead. Clank-clank-clank (that’s my roller coaster sounds climbing up the hill) and away we’ll go.

I will be announcing our new location in Kansas very soon, and we’ll be open faster than you think. Oh yeah, someone asked me about our Indiana location this morning and I wanted to let you know that I’m heading back to Indianapolis to bring the best iPhone repair center to the metro area…we’ll be there next week.

Back to work for me. It’s only 4:00pm and we’ve got a long afternoon ahead of us. Talk to you again soon.

Mission Repair Express – Indianapolis – COMING SOON!

Hello again everyone, you read that right…

I just posted a blog that I’ll be opening our first Mission Repair Express in Colorado in a few short weeks…the location is perfect, the site is staffed and I’m ready to have a Grand Opening soon.

Now that we’re “locked and loaded” in Lakewood, Colorado (a suburb of Denver), we signed an agreement to open a new site in Indianapolis, Indiana as well!

During the holidays, Indianapolis hosts a slew of fun Holiday themed events including the “Devour Downtown Winterfest”, the “Festival of Trees”, the “Circle of Lights” and the “Christmas at the Zoo”. This is an amazing city that I’ve spent some time in.

In fact, Dan McQuaid, a former Tackle for the Indianapolis Colts (A friend from a “lifetime” ago) retired from the Colts and moved from Indianapolis to Sacramento. I was his moving buddy as we filled up his Ford Bronco and made the trek from Indiana to California in the dead of Winter. This was back in 1990; I was freshly out of High School, and Dan was freshly into retirement. The best part about the trip was that I got to spend some time in the “underbelly” of the Colt’s stadium. Hang out where the players hung out…see the lockers, use the workout room, and see where the future “Hall of Fame” Quarterback Peyton Manning would eventually start playing in 1998.

So, with my personal experiences aside, the more exciting part of this blog is that we will be opening in Indianapolis soon. We are scouting locations, but have a lot of the parts in motion and will be deciding on an address shortly. Once we do, just like our new Denver site, it won’t take long for us to move in.

It’s interesting; we receive a significant amount of repairs mailed in from the Indianapolis region. More so than Colorado, so we will be sharing this info with our Indiana customers because we’ll be “locals”. Thanks for everyone’s patronage and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Thanks for reading…we’re dedicated to making sure that Mission Repair provides the best possible services and rest assured there’s a master plan that goes along with all of our new Mission Repair Express locations, and the competition won’t be able to keep up!

I’ll be back soon, Ryan
