Cement shoes.

Hello again everyone-

Wow, the construction progress is really coming along up at our Mission Repair Express location. I want to apologize for all of you that braved the construction mess yesterday. If you stopped by our Mission, Kansas location for a smartphone repair you saw that the sidewalk directly in front of our store was GONE! The jackhammers came out yesterday morning and drilled all day long.

Today, we have a BRAND NEW BEAUTIFUL sidewalk! The contractors said that we can walk on it in about 2 more hours, so the construction “pain” is almost complete. The issue is that it’s wet now; so if you make the trek in the next hour you might find yourself with some cement shoes. Please be patient – the weather is cooperating with us and it’s HOT outside. My guess is that within a couple of hours it will be ready!

Thanks for your patronage. We had over 50 people walk in to our Mission location yesterday despite the construction; thank you. I promise that it’s almost over!

Best, Ryan

Have your made your fantasy picks yet?

Happy Friday friends! It’s true…football 2014 has started.

Have you made your fantasy football picks yet? Just so you know, I had to stop playing fantasy football. It’s not that I’m better than it, nor was I actually very good at playing; it is just too big of a distraction from the games I really want to watch, so this year I am NOT going to play.

Now with that being said, I know that just about every one of my friends is in a league or two and I’m definitely not “normal” in that sense. In fact, some of my buddies think that I’m absolutely nuts. Hey guys, you’re just going to have to deal with it!

For the rest of you that are either NFL fans or not, it’s hard to not notice that the football season has started. In fact we are running a football promotion with discounts on every repair service that we offer through our newsletter that is going out to tens of thousands of customers today. Keep an eye out for it, because there will be a special coupon just for you football fans out there. It’s a great time to get hat iPad or Computer repaired. Well you don’t actually have to be a fan, but you might notice a common “pigskin” theme hit your email inbox shortly. Not signed up for our newsletter yet? Sign up now!

Until then, have a great afternoon and I’ll be back soon with more great Mission Repair info.

Where is August going?

Hello friends,

It’s almost mid-August and time is flying by! My son Casey started his senior year of school today (I won’t embarrass him with the picture I took today) and he was even early this morning. If you’re already out of High School (like me!) do you remember your senior year?

Mine was at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, California. It’s kind of funny because now that I’m living in Kansas (Casey started school here and is finishing here), I get to tell my kids stories about how I used to go to Santa Cruz on the weekends, our lockers were outside of the school (not in hallways like they are here!) and we ate lunch outside…every day…yes even through the winter. Obviously, the weather is different in California and therefore the schools were set up differently. In fact, we also had “Open” lunches where we could leave campus and chow down at the Burrito Stop next to the school. Looking back now, it was a great benefit!

I grew up spending summers here- this bring back a lot of memories!

I grew up spending summers here- this bring back a lot of memories!

Well the hot August nights that we usually get here in Kansas City are unusually cool this year. It’s been a very mild summer when we normally expect a lot of heat and humidity. I’m not going to kid ya, it’s been nice! My yard is still green when typically I can’t keep up with the heat!

There’s a lot happening around here at Mission Repair too. We’ve added several new products and repairs to our lineup of services, we’re in “super” repair mode with all of the schools coming back online and there’s some great news coming down the pike about Mission Repair. I just can’t believe that it’s already August…NFL football has started and it’s feels like Fall is upon us. We’re moving into another season next month which also begins the busy season here for us as well. I’ll be planning my company Christmas party soon and talking about the New Year before we know it!

OK, that’s enough fast forwarding 😉 Stop…relax…enjoy August! I’ll be back soon with some great Mission Repair info!

14 pounds of pizza? We couldn’t do it.

Hello friends,

Last week was a heck of a week here at Mission Repair- especially since I was out of town visiting Colorado for new locations for our next Mission Repair Express. I’ll admit it; We spent a little “relaxing” time up in the mountains as well 😉

Every time I go to the Mile High area, I always stop in at Beau Jo’s pizza. Ever eaten there? Their pizzas are called “mountain pies” and are amazing. I’ve been taking my kids there since they were little, and ever since we’ve always put honey on our crust wherever we go! There are honey jars on the tables, FYI. Check out this picture I snapped from their menu with my iPhone:

They have a 14 pound pizza that is made to order – why 14 pounds? It’s because of the 14,000′ high peaks in the area…it seems like there’s no better way to pay tribute to the area’s biggest mountain tops! This amazing pizza was featured on the Travel Channel and you can watch the video here. You can even get it for free – check out the video.

Well we opted for a couple of smaller versions of the pizza which were as delicious as I remembered. We had our fill and only dreamed of the legendary 14er. Maybe next time 😉

Ok so I’m back in my office going through about 700 emails from last week – feels like 14,000 – and once I’m caught up I’ll be back with some great Mission Repair news. Thanks for reading!

Hummingbird and a coupon inside!

Good morning friends-

I woke up this morning and took a walk outside to the hummingbird feeder just outside my door. There were several birds around the feeder and all but one flew away as I approached…

IMG_0734

I got a little closer…and a little closer…until this little guy just didn’t want to fly away. So I snatched up my iPhone and clicked the picture above. I was about a foot away from this cute avian so he posed and I started snapping away. I got a few of him fluttering about but in this pic he stopped and “eyeballed” me just as I was “eyeballing” him.

He probably thought “wow, look at how close this guy is getting to me. They never get that close, they always run away”. 😉

At the very least I thought the picture came out well so I wanted to post it for all to see!

This makes me feel like posting a coupon for Mission Repair in honor of my feathered friend. Let’s take 10% off of your repair order now through the end of July, 2014 with coupon code HUMMINGBIRD. Just enter this coupon online or bring a copy of this blog with you when you visit one of our locations today or tomorrow to receive your discount. This coupon cannot be combined with any other offers.

Thanks again for reading, I’ll be back soon with more great Mission Repair information!

Take care, Ryan
