Waterfalls in Kansas? Tell your friends about it!

Hi there!  As you may or may not know, Mission Repair has locations in Kansas, and we’re not just the “flatland” that you picture when you relate the the state.  The fact is that most of Kansas is FLAT and boring to drive through if you’re traveling across country on Highway 70, but there is a cool website that talks about some of the features and attractions in each state.  Here in Kansas, they are promoting a “Water Fall Tour” and have it mapped on their website!

I know for a fact that my California friends think that I live in a wheat and sunflower wasteland here in Kansas…but we Kansans have a few hidden gems up our sleeves.  I was intrigued, and I think that I’ll take the trip via motorcycle here soon.  I thought I’d share!

Have a good morning, Ryan

Love is in the air, and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.  Some people find it difficult to select that perfect gift that means so much.  Candy and roses always seem to do the trick, but you can surprise them with something unexpected. Think of that cell phone or tablet that is always by their side, and if it’s damaged, needs a new screen, or could benefit from some other service: We have a special for you.  Once it’s repaired, every time they look at their trusty smartphone they will always think of you.  Sometimes it’s good to be the hero, and Mission Repair is here to help.

Use coupon code “HEARTS” online or when you visit one of our locations for any new order placed with us.  Coupon code expires 2/14/16 at midnight, so act fast!

Have a great weekend, Ryan
(Offer cannot be combined with any other coupon, including Got Repair discounted repairs. Valid on NEW orders only. Expires 2/14/16 at midnight.)

Winter is hitting Kansas City today!

Hello there friends,

I was just watching the news and the weather report came up; it’s not looking good here in Kansas City over the next couple of days. Get out the winter coats!!

gloves

Apparently this weekend it will be 8 degrees F on Sunday morning, and with the wind chill it’s going to feel like minus 10.

Minus 10?  That’s just a bit too cold for me.  I’m a California boy originally and while I do love Kansas, it’s these days that really seem to make me rethink moving back to the beach.

I considered that very move about 8 years ago, but talked myself into riding out the Kansas experience.  Too much more of this and I’ll be packing my board shorts and flip flops for somewhere warmer.  Do you have a room to rent?  🙂

Ah, it’s just Mother Nature stepping in to do her duty, and I can appreciate that.  I’ll ride this one out, I’m not working this weekend anyway so I can curl up and cocoon myself in the house.  Stay warm wherever you are; I have some friends that live in Florida that keep sending me pictures of the thermometer.  I get it…it’s warm.  Thanks!

Take care, Ryan

I wonder sometimes; should I keep blogging?

We spend an awful lot of time around the Mission Repair headquarters deciding on what to blog about next and when. There are days that I wonder if it’s worth the work – I mean we have to stop what we are doing, come up with a topic, write about it, proofread it (I know we make mistakes – me especially), make sure the links are working and post it. There are times that I can knock out a few great blogs (like this morning) but other times issues throughout the day take precedence and inevitably take me off of my path.

whyblog

This morning I received an email from Lisa L., one of the Mission Repair Blog Subscribers…I’ll cut and paste the part that I found especially helpful:

“Hello Ryan, thanks for your blogs. I like when I open my mailbox to see if there are any specials. We have 9 apple devices in our home and my teenage son has already been back in your shop in Lakewood twice because he can’t seem to keep his i-pod from hitting the ground. He’s the starting running back on the Lakewood HS team and I hope he doesn’t drop the ball next year as much as he does his i-pod!! Thanks again, can I get the 4th of July special if I place my order monday?

Thanks, Lisa”

Just when I think “I wonder if it’s worth it?”, I get an email like this from a blog fan and my question is answered. It is worth the work, it defines Mission Repair and separates us from the competition – because these kinds of emails drive me to continue and validate our efforts.

So thank you Lisa for the awesome email. I know that I’ve already replied to you individually, but now I’m also commending you in front of all of our readers – there are over 960,000 unique readers by the way – I offer my sincere thanks for reaching out. Yes, we’ll be happy to extend our 15% off special if you’ll just give us a call Monday and I’ll be happy to give you the deal. Just tell your representative that I approved it! If they don’t believe you, just tell them to read this post 😉

Take care everyone, and have a great day.

Ryan
