iPod Repair at Mission Repair; a number one seller!

Hello friends of Mission Repair –

I just went over our May 2014 metrics, and once again iPod Repair is our number one selling service; to be more specific the 4th Generation iPod Touch Screen Repair takes top honors.

It’s fitting because I’ve been in the iPod repair business since the first iPod was delivered to anxious customers- do you remember these beauties?

ipd1_new

Well times have changed since the 1st Generation iPod was delivered; no touch-sensitive “anything” there. They had a spinning click wheel and greyscale screen. I bet my kids would have a good chuckle if I handed them one of these and said “here’s your iPod”. In fact, that sounds like a great idea!

Fast forward to today and we’re fixing iPods by the thousands here at Mission Repair. There was one noteworthy anomaly in May that caught my eye. iPads took second place just behind the iPods by just one less unit. That’s in interesting shift to iPads and I’m certainly going to keep my eyes on that. We might see iPad overcome the iPod as the most proliferate repair at our business soon. Times are-a-changing!

Remember Mission Repair when in need of that iPod Repair – I’ve been doing them since 2001. Wow.

Take care, Ryan

Our first customer at our new retail location…

Hello friends, it was pretty fun. Our first customer at our new retail location was a gentleman by the name of Jim G. (and his wife) that actually stopped in 2 days before we opened as I was “testing” out our open sign.

The open sign was one of the last pieces to go up; it was a detail after all of the marketing and fixtures went in. I mounted the sign in the window, rolled up the power cord, stapled the cord to the wall, turned it on, and then Jim and his wife came walking in. I was dusty, dirty, tired, and not ready…but Jim and I worked this “first sale” out together! I received an email form him today, this will tell a lot:

Testimonial…

My 3rd grade daughter dropped her iTouch and shattered the screen. I would have taken it to the Apple store for repair, but the atmosphere in Apple stores annoys me, so I typed “shattered screen 5th generation iPod Touch Kansas City” into my web browser search bar. The top result was Mission:Repair. I looked at the hours of operation and realized there was only 30 minutes before they closed and I had a 20 minute drive to get to the store.

We made it to the store with 10 minutes to spare. We walked into the establishment to the dismay of the owner and his mother. Why dismay? Well, when I found the store location on the web and I didn’t realize this was a new location and wasn’t yet open. The front door was unlocked so the owners could carry items from their cars into the store, but it wasn’t open to walk-in traffic.

So… We walked in, and apologized for showing up so late in the day, but needed to get my daughter’s iPod repaired. The owner explained they open for business on Monday (March 17), but he was excited I found the store and helped me despite the fact they weren’t actually open for business. He had his sales/order system up and running, so he was able to put me into the system and get a ticket for my order, but since the store wasn’t fully functional he couldn’t print the ticket (he was able to email it). He apologized for not having “something to give me saying he had our iPod”, but it wasn’t a big deal as I had already received the email on my phone. He told me he would be in and out of the store over the weekend and would have the iPod for me the next day, Saturday (as I later would find out, they offer next day service on all iPod and ITouch repairs).

We went back to pick up my daughter’s iTouch and was thoroughly impressed with what happened next. The owner’s wife was there and she was so grateful to us for being their “1st customer” at the new location. She then explained how she and her husband wanted to offer us a significant discount on the repair and also gave us three gift certificates to help spread the word about their company. We told her we would absolutely spread the word as their customer service went above and beyond what anyone should expect from the owner’s of store that is not officially open. Hoping we don’t require anymore repairs to our devices, but if we do, we will definitely be using Mission:Repair!

It’s been a long road but we made good time…Mission Repair Express is going to open Monday morning, St. Patrick’s Day, 3/17/14! Yes, now I can look forward no longer painting for a while 😉

welcometomission

We’ve got some surprises in store for you, and we know that many of you have been waiting for us to open this new store. In fact, we’ve received several calls setting appointments for Monday; however remember that appointments are not necessary and we are open 7 days a week to serve you. We are at 5604 Johnson Drive in Mission, Kansas. Get it? “Mission, Kansas?” Yes, it’s perfect.

Mission Repair in Olathe is still going strong, but customer demand has driven this new location. We encourage you to stop on by and check us out. If you do pop in on Monday, we’re handing out $15 off coupons (no purchase necessary) for your next visit in the future (if you ever need us). Tell us what you think about the new store – what kind of accessories you’d like us to carry, what kind of services you’d like us to perform, or any other general inquiries or ideas are welcome.

So I’m happy to announce that we are on final cleanup and walk through this weekend. In fact, I’m sitting at the front desk typing this blog from the new Express location this afternoon and it feels great!

Thanks for your patience, the service lab is open on St. Patrick’s Day…and the party favors are on us!

Have a great weekend, Ryan

Progress is being made, and there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hello friends,

We’re working around the clock to get our new Mission Repair Express location done and open. In fact we are still ahead of schedule and with a grand opening date of 4/1/14, I’m almost 100% sure that we’ll be ready in just about 2 weeks. That means that things are going well with the build-out and these 12 hour days are going to pay off!

We have most of the sheet rock installed except for a few places that I’ve purposely left open for the wiring of the alarm and camera systems…and those are going in today!

The veins pumping data into our new Express location!

The veins pumping data into our new Express location!

Now, all that’s left to do is “finish”. We are installing the remaining sheet rock, paneling, slatboard and countertops this weekend. After that the floor is going to be installed, and then I’m going to “install” a few employees so we can flip on the lights and unveil the world’s first Mission Repair Express…I have a feeling that these will start popping up all over the country. Ok, I won’t get ahead of myself just yet…one at a time Ryan 😉

So it’s back to work for me…thanks for reading and I’ll talk to you again shortly.

Sincerely, Ryan

OK, let’s clear up a few things about our iPod Repair services!

Hello friends,

I received an email from a customer that found our website at http://www.missionrepair.com, then emailed me directly to ask “Do you guys work on iPod Touches?”

Of course, my first reaction was “how did I not get this across to this customer?!?”

The fact is that we spend a significant amount of time on our websites making them right. They are our biggest “salesperson” and they never need a break 😉

Let’s be very clear here and I hope this reaches those that might have some questions! WE REPAIR IPODS! In fact, we repair every model of the Apple iPod except for the iPod shuffle. We call those “disposable” iPods and frankly they aren’t worth fixing. . .

But if you need your iPod Touch fixed, there’s no better place than at Mission Repair. We are repairing several thousand per month and our processes, turnaround time, prices and warranties are the best in the business.

Did you know about our “GOT REPAIR” benefits? Again, we are the only business in the industry that offers this. . .let’s say you have your iPod Touch 3rd Gen Screen Repaired with us. We will get it done within 24 hours and get it back to you. The amazing kicker is that you AUTOMATICALLY get our GOT REPAIR benefits which means that if you ever break that same screen again, we will repair it again, as many times as you need, under our GOT REPAIR benefits program. Talk about keeping us in your back pocket in case of emergency!

OK folks the day is getting past me. Still a lot left to talk about!

Best, Ryan

Mission Repair Price Cuts!

Good morning friends, have you been trying to call into us? Well we did get to everyone, but our handsets were blazing!

Yesterday we had a record number of telephone calls come into the main lines at Mission Repair – calls from our customers looking to place new orders and get their iPhones and iPods repaired before Christmas. Tis the season!

I’m just shooting out a quick blog because we have dropped our prices on many of our services including our most popular service for the iPod Touch 4th Gen Glass Repair. We’ve broken the $100 price barrier and will continue to repair these at lightning speed. It’s what we do!

So watch for price cuts. Why did we lower the price on our most popular, biggest selling repair you might ask? It’s true that I could have kept it at it’s old price, but we received a discount from our vendor because we buy in such large volumes. . .so I’m passing the savings on to you, our customer. I want to be friends for life.

OK, I’ll be back with more blogging later today. Take care, Ryan
