Tax deadline today – don’t delay! Coupon inside.

Hello friends- I’m having a hard time believing that it’s April 15th already. Not only that it’s tax time (remember to file by today!) but in fact I had a bit of “free” time last night so I went into my my basement to clean a few items up that I have been neglecting. You know, it’s easy to stuff things in the corner and forget about them, so I went through my “pile” to purge and organize. You know what I found? A few Christmas presents that I haven’t even used yet!

How do I use this thing again?

How do I use this thing again?

Now in my defense they are BBQ tools, and we here in Kansas are just getting into BBQ season (it did actually snow here yesterday morning) but for the most part Spring is upon us and things are really starting to get green in the area. I asked my wife for a steak “flipper” which is basically a large rounded “hook” that you pierce a piece of meat with, then can easily flip over on the grill. Yeah, I’ve seen them on cooking shows and figured it was my time to upgrade to this piece of equipment. I also received a BBQ spray bottle which I may fill with Apple juice or other “flavored” liquid to “baste” my creations when cooking. Apple juice is good because a lot of professionals use it to help tenderize ribs and give them their color.

What’s next? Well Easter is just right around the corner and I’m not even sure of our plans yet. We have family near and far that want to spend time with one another so we may just have to compromise and meet in the middle somewhere; but the fact that Easter is less than a week away makes me wonder where the time goes.

So I wanted to remind each of your that before time runs out, we have a 14% off coupon that is running through the end of the day today (4/15/14 at midnight to be exact) to synchronize with the 2014 tax season. Use coupon code “unclesam” on our site missionrepair.com to receive the discount off of your order today which is good for new orders only, and cannot be combined with any other coupon. Hundreds of people have already taken advantage of this offer via our newsletter (you should sign up if you have not already do so!) but it’s time to share with the masses on our blog. Place your order today and have that cracked iPad or iPhone repaired asap!

If I don’t talk to you soon, have a great “tax deadline day”, a spectacular Easter and get that BBQ grill cleaned up for the season – I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Take care, Ryan

Where are the minutes going? Sprint!

Hello friends-

I’ve been an iPhone user for years. In fact I actually use two cell phones, one is an iPhone and I also use a Samsung Galaxy SIII (yes, there are specific reasons for this)…but I recently changed my carrier to Sprint from AT&T. Since I switched, I noticed something interesting:

When I was on AT&T and when I made a call, the second counter would only begin when a call was connected. I would dial; wait a bit and if the call went through, then the counter started.

This is NOT the case with my Sprint service. Interesting. So the time counter starts immediately upon dialing my office number and you can hear in my video, my automated message “connects” at about 9 seconds on the counter. This could be a sticky situation. I haven’t actually compared my invoice from Sprint to the number of calls that are placed but I wonder if this is an issue of “fractions of a minute” that add up on one’s bill.

Remember the movie “Office Space”? “Fractions of a penny” being diverted and over time add up to a couple hundred thousand dollars? What could “fractions of a minute” add up to over millions of customers?

Well in Sprint’s defense, I have not yet verified if I am being charged for minutes that never connect or if these fractions are rounding my connected calls to an additional minute…but since my phone is recording these seconds differently than my AT&T phone, I just find it interesting that this is different per carrier. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

If you’ve got my cell phone number, give me a call 😉

Take care, Ryan

Kiwi green – my new favorite color.

Hello friends, it’s been a while since my last blog post.

We’ve been working 12 hour days and I finally got to take a few days off to head to the woods with a few friends. We rented a cabin, locked ourselves inside, and did what a bunch of guys would do without the stresses of “normal” daily life. We did absolutely nothing! I have to admit, the BBQ steaks were a highlight. Darrin brought 7.5 lbs of porterhouse steaks for the 5 of us…and they were truly amazing last Saturday night!

Well, we’re back from the fun and in my office which is really “my reality”. My home away from home so to speak. In a few hours, I’ll be heading back to our new location in Mission, Kansas to install our new Kiwi counter tops at Mission Repair Express, which is due to open on 4/1/14. Http://www.missionrepairexpress.com

Yes, the counters are Kiwi green…a perfect match for our retail location! Here we are carrying them into the warehouse last week:

MIssion Repair Express

We’re getting close- the floors will be installed this week and then the cleanup begins…we will be stocking the site and open for business. I’m really excited about the progress we’ve made and we’re on the final push. There’s been a lot of talk about Mission Repair Express- but let’s not forget about the mother ship, our Corporate Headquarters and Main Service Lab in Olathe – which is expanding too and will be open in just about a week. I look forward to posting a few blogs about this progress soon; the reception area is amazing and we’ll even have a customer waiting room with television, food and drinks in comfort. I know that you’ll appreciate it when you visit us.

We had a record breaking number of customers come to our Olathe site last weekend (while I was out “sitting” at the cabin), and I wanted to thank each of you for visiting.

I’m back in the saddle helping out the production line getting these repairs done as quickly as possible. If you’re waiting to pick up your device, our new automated calling system should be dialing your number soon; thank you for your business.

Ok, more awesome Mission Repair news coming soon, have a great day

Ryan

Mission Repair has done it again. . .We’ve gone mobile!

Hello everyone, I’m just speechless right now. This is a feat in itself!

Marc (our Webmaster) just launched our BRAND NEW MOBILE WEBSITE! That’s right, for those of you that care or for those of you that surf our website from your mobile device (i.e. iPhone or iPad), our servers will automatically recognize your device and automatically display a drill-down MOBILE version of our site on your hand-held. It’s just plain awesome! Just view our mobile site and then select your services:

What does this mean? Well, first of all, viewing all of our products and categories and services like iPhone repair and Macbook repair are EASY on your mobile device. No more pinch and zoom! Our services are displayed with pictures and descriptions so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. Marc is scrambling to hammer out the bugs (as with any new website launch) and we should be 100% by this afternoon. Find any holes? Just email Marc and let him know!!

Don’t like the new mobile site look? No problem, it might take some getting used to. You can always click “Go to main site” at the bottom right to take you our normal site. I know, sometimes change is scary (trust me, I’ve been holding my breath for 24 hours now!) but I think that this is just another way that Mission Repair stands out amongst the competition. We do this for you, our customers – and for no other reason. Well, I have to admit that I think it’s pretty cool too. OK, 90% for our customers, 10% cool. . .that’s it!

Hey, if I don’t see ya in the neighborhood this weekend, have a Happy Halloween!!

Best, Ryan
