I heard a little rustling in the middle of the night…and a coupon!

One more quick blog before I head to our Mission Repair sales meeting tonight – yes, it’s gonna be a late one!

Just a bit about me: I’m a light sleeper. I think having kids did that to me, and I can fall asleep fast but wake up just as fast.

Last night I thought I heard a little “pitter patter” coming into our room from the living room at about 3:00am. We have wood floors so I can usually tell if anyone is approaching the bedroom door; and I typically have a collar with a couple of clanking “tags” on the dogs – but last night I took them off.

I was quietly sleeping and I didn’t hear any unusual noises until a “huff” was “blown” into my face from the side of the bed. It was my German Shepherd Layla.

She was in “ninja” mode and somehow without me hearing she sneaked out of the room, over the hardwood, into the kitchen, and secured a dog bone for herself. She then proceeded to walk back into the room, sit next to the bed (bone in hand…uh…mouth) and wake me up so she could go outside to bury it. Yup, she’s a busy bone burying dog.

As I woke up, I snapped this picture of her with my iPhone – that’s never far away from me.

Who needs kids when you can just have a couple of dogs? I have both…and truthfully having dogs is a bit easier 😉

Kiwi green – my new favorite color.

Hello friends, it’s been a while since my last blog post.

We’ve been working 12 hour days and I finally got to take a few days off to head to the woods with a few friends. We rented a cabin, locked ourselves inside, and did what a bunch of guys would do without the stresses of “normal” daily life. We did absolutely nothing! I have to admit, the BBQ steaks were a highlight. Darrin brought 7.5 lbs of porterhouse steaks for the 5 of us…and they were truly amazing last Saturday night!

Well, we’re back from the fun and in my office which is really “my reality”. My home away from home so to speak. In a few hours, I’ll be heading back to our new location in Mission, Kansas to install our new Kiwi counter tops at Mission Repair Express, which is due to open on 4/1/14. Yes, the counters are Kiwi green…a perfect match for our retail location! Here we are carrying them into the warehouse last week:

We’re getting close- the floors will be installed this week and then the cleanup begins…we will be stocking the site and open for business. I’m really excited about the progress we’ve made and we’re on the final push. There’s been a lot of talk about Mission Repair Express- but let’s not forget about the mother ship, our Corporate Headquarters and Main Service Lab in Olathe – which is expanding too and will be open in just about a week. I look forward to posting a few blogs about this progress soon; the reception area is amazing and we’ll even have a customer waiting room with television, food and drinks in comfort. I know that you’ll appreciate it when you visit us.

We had a record breaking number of customers come to our Olathe site last weekend (while I was out “sitting” at the cabin), and I wanted to thank each of you for visiting.

I’m back in the saddle helping out the production line getting these repairs done as quickly as possible. If you’re waiting to pick up your device, our new automated calling system should be dialing your number soon; thank you for your business.

Harvester’s food drive and Mission Repair deal of the day!

It’s true, we’re expanding!

So we’ve been diligently working on our expansion here at Mission Repair and this is just a quick blog to let you know that the building is almost complete and our new call center should be open in January.

The number of telephone calls that we are receiving seems to be astounding!  As of 2:15 today we are caught up on calls and we get to take a small breather before they light up again!

Here’s a rendering of our new call center in action:

Ha!  Of course this is not a rendering of our new call center 😉 Actually, this is a picture of a 1926 Switchboard from somewhere in California and these ladies would answer the phone whenever you would dial “0” from a land line in their area.  They stayed busy, but I’d put up any one of our Mission Repair employees against them any day!  We know what busy feels like!

Our call center won’t have this many operators, however you do get a real live human being when you dial 866-638-8402 and THEN dial “0”.  Our phone system is highly advanced, it will keep you in the queue and all of our calls are answered in the order in which they are received.

Try it, I dare ya!
