Kansas City customers- Mission Repair’s website is for you!

Hello friends, thank again for stopping back by the blog this morning.

We’ve been operating for the better part of a decade now, and Mission Repair started out primarily as a “mail in” repair center. We are in the middle of the country, with a huge technician floor, with room for expansion at our fingertips. We’ve often thought that we’d never go into the retail business (See: Mission Repair Express) nor we would actually cater to or offer a streamlined walk-in customer experience.

Boy was I wrong!

We of course have opened our first retail spot in Mission, Kansas and we have also reset and expanded our front office at our main headquarters with a customer waiting room, vending, television and showroom. This gives our waiting customers something to do rather than waiting in a small dingy crowded office space that used to be our front lobby.

What else have we done for our local customers? We’ve taken our website one step further and added “Customer Dropoff” and “Customer Pickup” to our shipping methods when placing an order online. This makes it easy- if you place your order online, there’s no need to wait when you arrive to fill out the necessary paperwork at our location.

You can place the order, pay for it, print it out and just drop it off at one of our locations if that’s what you choose. It makes for a much more efficient customer experience and you can even enter those coupon codes that you might have online before you ever arrive! Everyone loves a good sale!

Now there’s no reason to “pre-place” your order, but if you do, you’ll be a step ahead of the game when you arrive at our location. Thanks again for stopping by!

Take care, Ryan

It’s prom time, and Casey isn’t immune.

Hi friends, do you remember going to prom? I do…

Here’s my son Casey and his girlfriend at his Junior Prom last weekend, the pictures just came through on the prom website. Is he going to “love” that I posted this here on the Mission Repair blog? Nope. I will certainly hear about it tonight…but it’s not intended to make fun of him or to in any way demean the experience; my prom(s) were memorable and exciting!

Screen Shot 2014-04-17 at 3.54.08 PM

It’s that time of year – that time that the “tuxedo guys” are doing some great business and all of the hair stylists are booked up on the weekends.

So Casey, good job buddy – you’ve just made an excellent life memory. You will look back at this picture and laugh at your hair, or your tux, or your something else…I guarantee it. If I had the guts I’d post a picture of my 80’s Junior prom, but I don’t. I’ll keep that to myself but all I have to say is “mullet” and we’ll leave it at that!

So to honor all of the prom goers that are out there this month, we’re going to run a 15% coupon today through Easter Sunday 4/20/14 at Midnight on our Mission Repair website. Just use coupon code “casey” when checking out online or when calling in your order. If you walk into one of our locations, print this blog and hand it to your sales representative for an instant 15% savings on your new order. This coupon cannot be combined with any other coupon. You’re going to need that iPhone to take pictures!

Get that boutonnière ordered!

Take care, Ryan

Case Of The Mondays (Screen Protector Edition)!

Hello M:R Nation… and happy Monday?

Happy or not, we are going to discuss a product today that  I have been testing for the better part of 2 weeks. While it is not a case, I hope you will let me stretch the rules here for just today.

The Spigen GLAS.tR SLIM Premium Tempered Glass has been an interesting accessory to have on my phone to say the least… It is a piece of precision cut, 0.4mm glass that adheres to the screen of your iPhone. The purpose is 2 fold in my opinion… #1. It’s oleophobic coating really reduces the finger prints that is usually left on phone screens and #2. It absorbs the shock if you happen to drop your phone.

Here is a shot of the packaging

Here is a shot of the packaging

When I opened the package to start my install for my iPhone 5, I found a few different items that impressed me to my core. First, the instructions are very simple to follow. It seems like a hard concept nowadays for companies to make easy to follow instructions, but Spigen has passed this test with flying colors (granted, its a pretty easy task to install this piece of glass). Second, Included is all of the components you need to actually install the piece of glass (you’d be surprised by how many screen protectors require outside tools to install). Last, they include a choice of 6 raised home button stickers that will accommodate the 0.4mm that you just added to your screens thickness.

The install was very simple and took about 5 minutes. I chose black for my home button and started to live my life. The first thing I noticed about this product is the lack of finger prints that it picked up and how nice it felt to the touch. It attracted 100% less prints than the original iPhone 5 glass that is on it. In fact, the only time a print was left on this glass is when I intentionally tried to leave one on it. I did have  a smudge here and there, but for the most part, it remained clean and clear!

I accompanied my Spigen screen protector with the Spigen SGP iPhone 5 Case Ultra Thin Air that I reviewed last week and the extra thickness was not very noticeable. Even when I took the case off, the extra thickness was manageable. Take a look at the (not so great) image above! After having this screen protector on for 2 weeks, I really got used to it. It became a part of my iPhone 5 and I really miss it. Why do I miss it? Because it did what it was born to do and protected my iPhone 5 screen after I dropped it!

Ouch!

There I was, walking out to my garage to grab my son a juice box and I suddenly received a text message. When I went to respond to said text message, I tripped slightly over a broom that was placed unceremoniously in front of the door. My iPhone slipped right out of my hand I just knew this wasn’t going to be good. Fearing the worst, I picked my iPhone and sure enough, a nice large crack was staring me in the face… Lesson of the day “Never text and walk to your garage for a juice box”.

As I started to assess the damage, I remembered that I had this screen protector on my iPhone. I started to swell with hope that it did its job and protected my screen. I slowly peeled the protector off (which came off cleanly and not a shard of glass to be had) and sure enough, it worked!  My iPhone screen was as flawless as ever and my mind was at ease.

If I had to rate this product from 1-10 I would most certainly give it a 10! I am confident in its ability and I am confident to offer it to our customers. So with that, you can place your order for your very own Spigen SGP iPhone 5 Screen Protector GLAS.tR SLIM Premium Tempered Glass right here with Mission:Repair or walk-in to our location and let us install it for you. There is no possible way to completely protect yourself from breaking your Smartphone, but this will give you a fighting chance!

Cheers, Troy
