However we’re still working on iPhone 6S screen repairs…they are taking some time to get to us in the repair market. Could the news on CNN an hour ago have something to do with it?

From the article:
————————————–
“Apple may be in a spot of trouble, at least in the short term, Credit Suisse said Tuesday.

The Swiss bank said in a note the tech giant has cut as much as 10 percent of its component orders. “The cuts seem to be driven by weak demand for the new iPhone 6s, as overall builds are now estimated to be below 80 million units for the December quarter and between 55-60 million units for the March quarter,” the bank said.

Credit Suisse also lowered its iPhone estimates for 2016 to 222 million from 242 million. It estimated a 6 percent year-over-year growth rate in 2017. “We believe such adjustments reflect a more subdued launch around the iPhone 6s/6s Plus in terms of uptake.”
————————————–
Well, I do know that if Apple is cutting component orders, this will leave less components (screens!) in the market for the repair sector. While we are now offering a full line of repairs for the iPhone 6S, the screens are stil expensive and a bit scarce. I think we should be good by Christmas time, but ony time will tell. Good luck Apple!

Thanks, Ryan

Happy October.

Good morning, I can’t really believe that I haven’t said it yet, but Happy October!

Wait a second, it’s already October 16th? I’m losing time somewhere. Somehow. Lately I’m been doing a lot of work with my technicians, it’s bringing me back to my roots. Speaking of my roots, can anyone tell me what this is?

If you guessed an “Auto-Inject Floppy Disk Drive”, then you really know your vintage computer parts! This was one of my first projects in the business back in 1994; testing these drives for functionality. It was then that my father purchased a floppy disk drive repair business (consisted of a single employee and a few pieces of test equipment) and off we went into the floppy disk drive repair business for ourselves to compliment our monitor repairs and other component level services. The floppy drive repair business was so good that were were performing hundreds per week…but like all technology, things are bound to change! Needless to say, our floppy disk drive business is no longer around; but it was the precursor to what Mission Repair is today.

While I’m still the master at repairing old floppy disk drives, that doesn’t pay the bills. At Mission Repair we are doing everything we can to stay on top of the technological curve and adapt to new products when we can. If there’s something that you’d like to see us repair, give us a call! This means that I won’t get my hands dirty – this week I soldered on a blown capacitor on a older PCB for a customer that has been coming to us for years…he just likes the way I solder 😉

Check us out, we’re here for you. Have a great day, and oh yes, Happy October.

Take care, Ryan

iPhone 6S Parts are hitting the market!

Good morning!

Just as a finished a blog and a tweet a few minutes ago about iPhone 6S repairs, I received an email from one of our trusted vendors stating that they have the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus screens in stock. They are ready to ship…and don’t be fooled, the iPhone 6 screen is far different than the iPhone 6S screen even though they look similar!

The only caveat is that these are some of the first in the market to be released and the price is outrageous. Believe me, you wouldn’t want to buy one of these “first release” screens, even if your phone is broken. Just hang in there for another couple of weeks for the price to simmer down and you’ll save hundreds of $$.

So I’ve got my finger on the pulse here with the iPhone 6S parts, and as soon as we land (and I mean the collective “we” of the entire repair industry) on some reasonable pricing, I will active the repairs on our website.

Thanks again, have a good afternoon.

Ryan
