How do I send my broken phone to Mission Repair?

Hello again folks-

We are constantly asked “How does your service work?” or something to that effect- and we’ve done a good job of explaining this on our website. But I agree that sometimes it can be a little confusing and websites might be easy for some, but unclear to others. Let’s see if this blog might help.

Firstly we take repairs in from all over the USA. We are not just a “local” walk-in type store; in fact, 90 percent of what we do is mailed in. Maybe you didn’t know that.

When a customer places an order with us, there are several options available to get the device in to Mission Repair.

1. You can just send your device into us however you’d like.

That’s right. Many of our customers have packaging material and a way to ship units into us. Simply just use mail, UPS, FedEx or any other carrier of your choice and when we receive it, we’ll input into the repair system.

2. You can have us email you a shipping label.

This is by far our most popular option. Customers can typically find some kind of box to ship their device into us. Once it’s packaged by the customer and an order is placed in our system, an email label will automatically be generated and emailed to the customer. It’s then printed out and taped to the box. This label is pre-paid and will be carried by FedEx. Once the label is attached, the customer then either calls FedEx for a pickup, drops the package at their business shipping department for FedEx pickup, or is taken to the nearest FedEx Office location for shipment.

3. We can send the appropriate shipping materials to you, with a FedEx return label already affixed.

This is for the truly seamless experience. We’ll deliver an appropriate box to you at your location. You slip your device into the box. You seal it with the provided tape. You call FedEx for a pickup, or deliver it to the nearest FedEx Office location. Simple, fast and even my grandmother could figure it out. You know grandmas need help from time to time!

4. Just drop it off at one of our locations.

This is clearly for those customers that are within driving distance from one of our stores.

Just stop on by during normal business hours and drop it off! We don’t require appointments, and are open 7 days a week for your assistance. Come on in and say hello, we’re happy to have you stop by. Don’t see a location in your area? Just hang tight. We are talking about our next location that will be announced soon!

Thanks for reading, I’ll be back soon with more great info.

Own a “vintage” phone?

Hello friends, I just watched a video on CNN.com that talked about the fad of owning and using a “vintage” cell phone. This was work related, so watching videos while at work is ok in this situation πŸ˜‰

Apparently there is a new trend in cell phones – one that is making it “cool” to use an older, greyscale, non-smart phone as a sign and symbol of the times. I think that I might be one of the users that would quite possibly lean toward a “less-smart” smartphone – personally I’ve got so many means of communication with the outside world including through this blog I’m writing, that my cell phones seem to be on “offense” at all times. Yes, I have 2 phones, both set up and designed for very different purposes. Gulp.

In fact, I recently removed my email from my iPhone altogether and I’m a much happier man for it. I know, it’s strange…I just wait until I get to the office!

vintage

I find it a bit distracting when I’m out at a restaurant and see everyone swiping their phones; reading, texting, gaming or whatever. In my opinion it’s not a bad idea to take a break from the technology and look up once in a while.

UK manufacturer, Binatone, is making a new “Brick” phone. That’s right, it’s similar to the one that in the picture above, but it’s actually new and you can buy them now. Simple technology and a fashion statement to boot that come in several colors. There’s a caveat – you won’t get the smartphone experience. Not being able to Tweet or visit Facebook might freak you out for a minute but let’s face it, what did you do before Twitter and Facebook were around?

There’s a plus to older phones. Not only are they nostalgic but with the lack of a full-face glass screen they seemed indestructible. I can’t tell you how many times I dropped my old Blackberry on the ground and it NEVER failed. One drop of an iPhone and you’ll need to send it into us for glass repair. It’s how and why we are in business.

Are you willing to lose your smart features? Well that’s your call – no pun intended.

Happy talking, Ryan

Free Shipping on all Repairs at Mission Repair (Limited Time Offer)!

Ok, what’s going on here? Well I’m out of my mind. I made the decision to offer FREE SHIPPING on all of our repairs. From iPods, iPhones, Tablets, Smartphones even computers- Mission Repair is now offering FREE SHIPPING on any repair performed!

Another Mission Repair first!

Here’s the catch: Well, there isn’t one. I tried to come up with something but this time it’s just simple as pie. Pumpkin pie! Let’s run a scenario. Let’s say you have a cracked iPhone 4S. You visit our amazing iPhone Repair department and choose to have your iPhone 4S Screen repaired. You’ll see the word [FREE] next to the return shipping option before you checkout. When you choose this, we will send your repaired device back to you with NO SHIPPING CHARGE. It’s quite an amazing thing! Not only that, you’ll get it back via FedEx which is trackable and insurable. Yes, there are other cheaper ways for us to get your device back to you…and it could take weeks, with no tracking capability, and no insurance, and no signature. Heck we’d be surprised if your item ever got back to you all under those circumstances. We’re not going to take the risk. I’d rather pony up for the better FedEx service and make sure you get your device back in your hands, safe and sound. Is it coincidence that this is being announced the day before Thanksgiving, which is a day before BLACK FRIDAY and a couple days before CYBER MONDAY? No. Beginning on Black Friday we spin up to enormous levels of repairs and I want to be the first to grant you the best service on the internet and also include FREE SHIPPING. No coupon required, but you do need to place an order and have us repair something, otherwise it’s tough to redeem this amazing deal πŸ˜‰ Have a great day, Ryan
