“Obsolete”? Not At Mission Repair!

Good Morning M:R Nation –

There is news in the blogosphere that Apple is close to deeming the Original iPhone an obsolete model. The date is set for June 11th which means after this date, you can no longer call or bring your Original iPhone to Apple for support. The usual support shelf life for devices from Apple is 5 years. So it looks like the Original iPhone outlasted this term for a whole year, but alas, it has met its fate.

This news is a little heart wrenching for me to hear. Maybe it reminds me of how old I’m getting or how fast time flies by. I remember when the Original iPhone was first announced…Followed by its release and the subsequent birth of the Apple waiting line. Like it was yesterday, I can still remember heading team that was responsible to figure out how to repair beautiful creations. Let me tell you, that was an interesting task…To this day, the Original iPhone is still the hardest to open Apple product ever created!

Look At This Beautiful Creation!

Now that I am done strolling down memory lane, let me finally make the point I originally came to make. We at Mission Repair consider nothing obsolete. From the 12″ G4 Powerbook (Yeah, remember that one?) to the Original iPhone, we still service these and will continue to do so forever! We live in a world where technology moves faster than the average human budget, so to stop offering services like these is to stop supporting our fellow man and this we cannot do. I understand the reason behind the obsoletion of aging devices on the part of Apple, but you just won’t see that here at Mission Repair!

p.s. When the iPhone 5 goes obsolete, we will still have you covered;-)!

Cheers, Troy

A Return To Prominence – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Edition

Hello M:R Nation –

I have been meaning (for some time now) to talk about the return of something near and dear to my heart. If you were a child of the late 80’s and early 90’s, you can relate. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or TMNT as the kids are calling it these days are back! I know there have some failed attempts over the past decade to bring these guys back, but someone finally struck a cord with parents and children alike (or at least with me and my son, Brae).

We eagerly await 10:00am every Saturday to watch the newest episodes on Nick. After the show, we will usually bust out the action figures and reenact what we just watched… Yes, I said action figures! The new TMNT action figures bring me right back to my childhood every time I get my hands on them. We are currently building up quite the collection for myself…cough, cough…I mean Brae.

Watch out for Raph!

As you can see in the picture above, my son has caught the TMNT fever pretty badly. He can’t go a day without watching a recorded episode, playing with the action figures or screaming  HIYA sounds at the top of his lungs. They say you pass things down to your children- genes, habits, belongings, ect… Well,I fully intend to pass down some of childhood favorites to my children, but it seems that I have been beat to the punch on this one. Now If I can only get my daughter, Kynlee on this TMNT  kick…HIYA! 🙂

What does this have to do with Mission:Repair, iPhone Repair, Tablet Repair or any of our workings? Absolutely nothing! But hey, you have to take a break from work at some point, right?

Cheers, Troy

Good Morning!

Good Morning M:R Nation –

I hope everyone has had a great weekend. Mine included a a toy car, a toy car launcher and my eye ball… Ouch! I’m sure my 3 year old son didn’t mean to, but it definitely seemed calculated. Luckily my eye is feeling better today and I am ready for what Monday has to offer.

Something I have wanted to post for a long time is our Top Selling Products list. Like on most e-commerce sites, this is something you can find on various pages of , but why not make it easy for you and just post it here? Below you will see data directly from out “back end” stats numbered 1-6. They have in no way been manipulated

1)  4th Gen iPod Touch BLACK Front Glass/Digitizer & LCD Repair

2 ) iPad 2 Glass and Digitizer Front Panel Repair Service – Black

3) Samsung Galaxy S II (T-Mobile) Glass Screen Repair.

4) iPhone 4 Front Glass Screen Repair. Touch Screen Repair Service.

5) iPad 2 Glass and Digitizer Front Panel Repair Service – White

6) Kindle Fire Screen Repair Service | Amazon Kindle Fire Screen Repair

As you can see, this list is mostly filled by Apple products, but our other repairs such as HTC, Samsung and Motorola services are getting up there! It looks like a Samsung repair service already found its way to up to the # 3 position. This list is always changing. There is just no way to tell whats going to break next!

I’m sure we will be seeing more of each other today, but until then –

Cheers, Troy!
