Ok, you want more deals of the month? Here you go.

Well I could just stop at one…but the blogger in me says to “keep typing!”

So we’re lowering our price on another popular repair for the iPad with Retina glass replacement service.  This is also known as the 4th generation iPad (it’s a full-sized iPad, not a mini) and we receive these by the truckload from schools around the country.

Now’s the time to grab a special on this repair with no coupon needed!

I mentioned it in my last blog that this is a leap year.  So February gets an extra day of fun in it; I like that because it extends the month a bit and makes things easier on the business (this special runs until 2/29/16!).  It’s also a fun day that I’ve only seen 10 of in my life so far; 10 leap years.  Yikes.  I have a good friend that was born on leap year so we will be celebrating with her soon; she turns 40 years old, but is only 10 in leap years.  She’s such a youngster.

Take care, and send us an email if you have any questions about our services.

iPad Mini 4 Repairs coming soon!

Hello there,

We’ve got a long list of repairs at Mission Repair, and we strive to add new services as new products are released.  Very soon, the iPad Mini 4 Repairs will hit our service lineup.

We’ve had a few requests for this service already; however I’d like to make you aware that these screens are “fused” unlike most of the other iPad screens that we are currently repairing…therefore the price for repair will be higher than it’s older counterparts.  This can make the decision for some people to NOT BUY the iPad Mini 4;

Additionally, we get asked all the time: “Is it a good idea to spend the extra $100 for AppleCare+ if you’re going to be spending $600 dollars anyway on one of these new iPads?”  What’s another $100 at that point?  Well, it’s a lot…and if you break the screen even under AppleCare+ you’ll pay Apple another deductible to Apple as well to have it repaired.

concept of attracting money

It’s clear in this industry that Apple is making a move to make their devices less economically repairable…so as consumers we need to be aware of these things before we make purchases.  At this point, it’s a tough call…does a customer pay the extra $100 for “insurance” from Apple?  What if it’s never used?  You got it, you’d just lose that $100.

I personally have stopped buying all kinds of different “extended service plans” if I know where to get something repaired or can do it myself.  Chances are you’ll never need it.  If you do, you’ll have to pay for it at that point…but if you don’t, you pay nothing.

It’s how and why Mission Repair is in business.  We are here for those customers that are out-of-warranty, don’t have AppleCare+, or don’t want to pay Apple more deductibles.  We have our business anniversary in April of this year and will be moving into our 9th year of business, it must be working for some of you!

Take care, Ryan

Yes, we ship to every location in the USA, let’s discuss the best deal.

Hello folks,

We ship using FedEx, UPS and USPS, and with thousands of shipments per month, we try our hardest to make sure that our customers get the best possible prices when shipping broken electronics in and out of one of our locations. We automatically route packages incoming to us to the location closest to you.

There’s a little known “trick” to help keep shipping costs down, let’s discuss. Here’s a screenshot from our checkout page:

Mission repair checkout page.

The big shipping carriers (i.e. FedEx) charge a bit more to deliver packages to your home. Yes, the majority of our repairs are sent directly back to our customer residences…but if you have your device sent back to your business address – many companies will allow their employees to do so – you will save up to $6 on one way of shipping!

The thought behind this is that carriers know that customers are not always home, therefore they will need to come back to reattempt delivery which costs time and money. Businesses however are typically open “during normal business hours” during the day, and the driver will only have to stop once and make the delivery and have someone sign for it.

That’s another small tidbit, you don’t need to add or pay for a signature request if your delivery is to a business; the big carriers already require a signature for security when packages are delivered to a business, so that’s just another item that you won’t need to pay for!

This entire scenario is NOT special to Mission Repair, however many of our customers don’t fully understand the shipping rules posed by the carriers, so I hope this helps you out.

Postal deliveries are a bit different. The United States Post Office (USPS) handles deliveries in a slightly different way, we can discuss that later.

Happy shipping, Ryan

Stop by our Mission, Kansas store on Saturdays…

Hello friends, if you stop by our Mission, Kansas store on Saturdays you might find that you’ll be shopping for some awesome local foods and flora as well!

Starting June 6th 2015, every Saturday in downtown Mission begins the first weekly “Farm and Flower Market” will be held just outside of the glass windows of our Mission Repair Express location!

missionfarmersmarket

I just want to say that I LOVE farmer’s markets. They feature foods sold directly by farmers to consumers and this one will consist of booths, tables and stands, all outdoors, where farmers sell fruits, vegetables, meats, and flowers. It’s great exercise, fun for the whole family, and you can stop into Mission Repair and get that iPhone repaired while you shop.

It couldn’t be better! See you out there.

Take care, Ryan
