Hello Mission Repair fans…
We got a call from a customer yesterday that said “I cracked my iPad, and I can see the electronics inside of it!”
We’ve found that this a very common issue for our customers, but for the “first timer” it can be a bit unnerving. The glass on these units is fragile and cracked pieces of the glass can actually fall out and expose the internals of the unit.
Here’s a common looking cracked white iPad as we receive them here at Mission Repair:
A close-up shows the missing pieces:
If you read my blog a few days ago, we suggested adding strips of tape to the face of the broken glass to stop pieces from getting loose. You can reread that blog here.
The answer is that most of the time your iPad will continue to work like it’s design to; even with the glass hunks missing. However, be aware that this greatly “ups the odds” of a failure. When you can see the inside of your device, it’s time to get it repaired!
We constantly receive units in from customers all over the country and we are experts at this kind of repair.
