Cement shoes.

Hello again everyone-

Wow, the construction progress is really coming along up at our Mission Repair Express location. I want to apologize for all of you that braved the construction mess yesterday. If you stopped by our Mission, Kansas location for a smartphone repair you saw that the sidewalk directly in front of our store was GONE! The jackhammers came out yesterday morning and drilled all day long.

Today, we have a BRAND NEW BEAUTIFUL sidewalk! The contractors said that we can walk on it in about 2 more hours, so the construction “pain” is almost complete. The issue is that it’s wet now; so if you make the trek in the next hour you might find yourself with some cement shoes. Please be patient – the weather is cooperating with us and it’s HOT outside. My guess is that within a couple of hours it will be ready!

Thanks for your patronage. We had over 50 people walk in to our Mission location yesterday despite the construction; thank you. I promise that it’s almost over!

Best, Ryan

iPad Screen Repair Center – yes, in your hometown.

Good afternoon-

Did you know that we can repair your iPad, even if you’re located in Denver, Colorado? But what if you live in Austin, Texas? Or maybe Atlanta, Georgia?

overnight

Mission Repair DOES take walkins at any of our locations with no appointment necessary, but the main core of our business is still mail-in repairs. In fact, we can pick up your device even if you live in Concord, California. We will take the guesswork out of mail-in services, and it’s one of the reasons we can keep our prices low. In fact, we cover the entire 48 States top to bottom and on a daily basis it’s good to get to know a customer that lives in Boise, Idaho. We chat on the phone, decipher what is wrong with your iPad, have it picked up from your location, repair it, and deliver it back to you.

There’s no better way to get an iPad, iPhone, iPod or other hand held electronic device repaired if you don’t want to battle the traffic, lines and congestion of a retail location.

Yes, of course you can stop by one of our locations and drop it off as well…But since we don’t have a store in every town across the country we make things simple by completing your repair remotely.

Interested in sending your device into us? Give us a call 866-638-8402 and we’ll be glad to help you out!

Take care, Ryan

I heard a little rustling in the middle of the night…and a coupon!

One more quick blog before I head to our Mission Repair sales meeting tonight – yes, it’s gonna be a late one!

Just a bit about me: I’m a light sleeper. I think having kids did that to me, and I can fall asleep fast but wake up just as fast.

Last night I thought I heard a little “pitter patter” coming into our room from the living room at about 3:00am. We have wood floors so I can usually tell if anyone is approaching the bedroom door; and I typically have a collar with a couple of clanking “tags” on the dogs – but last night I took them off.

I was quietly sleeping and I didn’t hear any unusual noises until a “huff” was “blown” into my face from the side of the bed. It was my German Shepherd Layla.

IMG_0950

She was in “ninja” mode and somehow without me hearing she sneaked out of the room, over the hardwood, into the kitchen, and secured a dog bone for herself. She then proceeded to walk back into the room, sit next to the bed (bone in hand…uh…mouth) and wake me up so she could go outside to bury it. Yup, she’s a busy bone burying dog.

As I woke up, I snapped this picture of her with my iPhone – that’s never far away from me.

Who needs kids when you can just have a couple of dogs? I have both…and truthfully having dogs is a bit easier čśë

So for all of you that made it to the bottom of this post – I have a new coupon that is running now through Friday afternoon. It’s for 15% off of your next repair order here at Mission Repair.

Just enter coupon code “LAYLA” to receive the discount.

Valid on new orders and cannot be combined with any other coupons. It will expire at Midnight on 7/18/14 so act fast!

Have a good night, I hope you sleep well.

iPad 2 VS The New iPad(3) VS iPad With Retina Display(4)

Hello M:R Nation –

I think there might be some confusion among folks over the differences are between the different iPad models. So allow me to shed some light on some of the subtle and not so subtle differences.

Form the outside, you are not going to be able to notice much, if any differences at first glance. All 3 devices are 9.50″ x 7.31″ x 0.37″, all have a 9.7″ display and all sport a facetime and rear camera, but a great way to tell the difference between an iPad 2 and the others is the Siri function. All newer generation iOS devices have Siri.

Now to tell the difference between the┬áThe New iPad and iPad With Retina Display is very simple, just look at the bottom of the iPad.┬áYou will see ┬áThe New iPad ┬áhas the old 30 pin connector and the┬áiPad With Retina┬áDisplay sports the great┬ánew “Lightning” connector which looks like this:

iPad with Retina Display

Those are just some industry tips that we use here daily to identify what you are sending to us. While most folks get it right, we do have the occasional customer that orders the wrong service. Hopefully this can serve as a guide for those of you that are not quite sure. Moving forward, lets talk about the inside of these great devices.

This is where it can get complicated, so I won’t go too in depth. The iPad 2 had a lot less in common with it’s two successors when it comes to the internals. Take the glass/digitizer for an example. The iPad 2 has a completely different connector than the┬áThe New iPad and the┬áiPad With Retina┬áDisplay which share the same cable (Shown in the picture below).

In fact, the LCD is the same on the┬átwo successors as well. Now, we don’t usually disclose this type of information, but I want to make one thing clear, The New iPad and the iPad with Retina display use the SAME screen. So PLEASE, don’t fall for the marketing tricks of other companies and pay more for the┬áiPad with Retina display, It is exactly the same and it should cost the same as┬áThe New iPad repair!

For further internal information, check out this comparison chart. It really shows some key differences and similarities between the 3 models.

As you can see, looks can be deceiving. While these 3 models look identical, they are for the most part different and different for the better. This is what Apple is known for. Taking something great and slightly improving it for the better.

Lastly, I want to shed some light on the biggest thing these 3 iPads have fiercely in common. Mission:Repair services all of them! We do the leg work on finding the differences and sourcing those different parts so you don’t have to deal with it:-)!

From screens to headphone jacks and everything in between, we are you one stop shop for iPad repair. I hope this post has helped you to identify what iPad you own. Even if it is not broken, it’s still good to just know. If it is broken, I hope find some of the links below helpful. Just click and enjoy!

iPad with Retina Display Repair Services!

iPad Glass Screen Lesson. Cracked = Not Good. Repaired = Good.

Hello everyone, I’ve been scouring the internet doing a little market research and if you’ve been following the blog at all lately, we’ve added a ton of new products and services. My General Manager Troy has really been at it hard finding and creating these new part numbers so we can offer them as soon as we can!

While I was doing my weekly website reviews, I have noticed a couple of our competitors have started adopting our exclusive “Got Repair” benefits (albeit they offer them under a different name) which is good to see. . .I mean, it’s just the right thing to do in this industry. In this business we know that devices are fragile and can crack. They are made of glass čśë

As I’ve said in the past, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…and in this case it appears that even the competition is taking notice, good job everyone! The Mission Repair “Got Repair” program benefits means that if you ever use Mission Repair for your screen repair, and if it ever breaks again even if you drop it, all you need to do is give us a call and we’ll repair it again for you under this program. That’s it.

For example, let’s say you bought yourself a shiny new iPad last week, and then dropped and cracked the screen. I know this can happen, not only is my iPhone 5 currently cracked, but we see over 1,000 iPads in our service center every month with cracked screens- and we’re sympathetic to every one. So you do a little research, love our service, and get your cracked iPad into us for service. We will take the unit in, install a brand new glass panel, test the device through our QA department, and get it back to you just as soon as humanly possible. How soon you ask? We can even do it for you while you wait if you come visit our service lab in Olathe.

You’re back to “happy” again – but then try to imagine if that screen was broken again čśŽ

I know, it’s an accident, it’s a terrible thing, and you had to have it repaired once – you might even ask “why me”? Well this is where you thank yourself for using Mission Repair to fix your ailing iPad – because we already have you in our system and because we want you to remember us and always use us for your electronics repair needs. So we will repair that same glass panel again and you’ll never pay full price again. It’s a thank you from Mission Repair to you, and it helps ease the pain of a bad situation. Does this mean that you’ll always pay if you ever have a problem with your screen after we repair it? No! The screen does come with a full ONE YEAR warranty against manufacturer defects and we’d be happy to repair it again if something fails under this warranty, and at no charge to you whatsoever!

So remember Mission Repair lesson #213. Cracked iPad Glass = Not Good. Repaired iPad Glass = Good.

Talk to you again soon, Ryan
