2015 Mission Repair Blog in review.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 120,000 times in 2015. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 5 days for that many people to see it.

We definitely hit a few “highs” this year on our blog, and by far reaching over 1 million unique new readers was one of the best.  I’ve been aiming for that goal for some time now, are we are on our way to 2 million!

One of our most read blogs is still from 2011 titled “What is an iPhone Digitizer“.  We’ve definitely gotten some mileage out of that one!

Thanks again for everyone’s readership, we really appreciate it.  Take your time traveling as the 2015 year closes and you can count on the fact that we will be here in 2016.

Sincerely, Ryan

Have You Heard About Apple’s New iPad Air 2?

That’s right. Apple released a new iPad Air that has brand new features and I wanted to take a moment to talk about it.

The new iPad Air is 18% thinner making it the thinnest iPad ever. Consequently, it is also lighter than the original iPad Air. The iPad Air 2 is also available in a gold version (much like the iPhone) AND offers Touch ID. This is the same function that the iPhone 5S has – users are able to unlock their device and various apps with the touch of a finger. According to Apple, they have redesigned the Retina display to offer even more vivid colors and better contrast. Lastly, this iPad has an anti-reflective coating – the ONLY iPad with this new feature.

Specs:

  • Retina display
  • 9.7 inch (diagonal) LED‑backlit Multi‑Touch display with IPS technology
  • 2048 x 1536 resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi)
  • Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating
  • Fully laminated display
  • Antireflective coating
  • Height: 9.4 inches
  • Width:6.6 inches
  • Depth:0.24 inch

Keep in mind, Apple isn’t promoting a launch date for their new iPads (they also released a new iPad Mini 3) like they do for iPhones, however they are expecting the new iPads to be available in stores today.

So will Mission:Repair be repairing these units? YOU BET. Keep an eye out for New iPad 2 Repair Services coming soon!

Happy Friday,

Tired of dust and fingerprints on your computer screen? We have the answer.

Good morning!photo 3

Yesterday we got in a large batch of Blow Off electronic cleaning supplies and as I was pricing them and putting them on display in our lobby I knew I had to try them out! If you are like me, you don’t always remember to clean your laptop (or TV or tablet or smartphone) screen until it is covered in fingerprints. When it gets to this point – it needs a cleaning solution that is heavy duty on finger prints but delicate on your device and these cleaning supplies do just that! We offer several different Blow Off cleaning supplies and the ones I purchased were the Electronics Cleaner and the Microfiber Shammy.

I simply followed the instructions on the can by covering my keyboard with a towel and spraying the solution 6-8 inches towards the screen. Then, I allowed the foam to work it’s magic for about 30 seconds on the screen. Lastly, I wiped off the screen with the microfiber shammy and voila!

Before and After - Amazing!

Before and After – Awesome!

These cleaning products aren’t just for computer screens either. You can use it on TVs, tablets, smartphones, printers, stereos and just about any other electronic you have in your house and not be scared that they will damage it. Check out our full list of cleaning supplies or give us a call at 1-866-638-8402 for more information!

Have a great day,

Cement shoes.

Hello again everyone-

Wow, the construction progress is really coming along up at our Mission Repair Express location. I want to apologize for all of you that braved the construction mess yesterday. If you stopped by our Mission, Kansas location for a smartphone repair you saw that the sidewalk directly in front of our store was GONE! The jackhammers came out yesterday morning and drilled all day long.

Today, we have a BRAND NEW BEAUTIFUL sidewalk! The contractors said that we can walk on it in about 2 more hours, so the construction “pain” is almost complete. The issue is that it’s wet now; so if you make the trek in the next hour you might find yourself with some cement shoes. Please be patient – the weather is cooperating with us and it’s HOT outside. My guess is that within a couple of hours it will be ready!

Thanks for your patronage. We had over 50 people walk in to our Mission location yesterday despite the construction; thank you. I promise that it’s almost over!

Best, Ryan
