Is the iPad “MEGA” on it’s way?

Hi there,

I’m not sure if you follow the rumor mill or not when it comes to Apple products, but there’s a buzz about a 12.9″ iPad that may hit this year. Apple’s iPad kickstarted the tablet craze and recent rumors suggest the world’s most valuable company has an even bigger one on the way.

According to an online report from Taiwanese blog “DigiTimes”, components for a 12.9″ iPad are being readied for Apple to take delivery in September.

However, because demand for tablets is slowing, the technology giant has lowered its initial supply order.

So while a larger iPad could be available by the end of the year, you might not necessarily be able to get hold of one – Apple had a similar delay for the launch of the Apple Watch, although that was due to not being able to get hold of enough components in the first place.

Apple’s current iPads are either 9.7-inches (iPad Air and iPad Air 2) or 7.9-inches (iPad mini 3 and iPad mini 2).

It’s exciting to think that the electronics giant will be adding a new form factor to the lineup, which means that we here at Mission Repair will be adding it to our iPad repair lineup as well.

I remember thinking that no one would want a huge iPhone like the iPhone 6 Plus; but clearly I was wrong. So I’m going to take a new approach to the new “iPad Mega” (that’s what I’m calling it anyway) and say that I’m POSITIVE that consumers will love it. I’d suggest just keeping it out of the hands of your 3-year old. . .it’s going to take two GROWN UP hands to handle this one! We’ll see…

Happy Tuesday, Ryan
