HTC vs What?!?

Hello all –

Once in awhile, we see some pretty crazy stuff here at Mission Repair. A few days ago, a customer brought us what used to be a HTC One M9… it’s a phone that defies physics! This particular HTC One had a battle with… well, I’m not really sure- but it lost. The amazing things was that the back aluminum housing bent so badly that the buttons popped out, yet the front glass screen was not broken. Unfortunately, everything inside was bent or cracked so badly that it was BOE (beyond economical repair). RIP Mr. HTC.

It’s getting exciting here in Colorado!

Hello friends,

What a day. It’s been *almost* a record-breaking sales day here at Mission Repair and all of our locations are rockin! Thanks so much for all of our new customers today, it’s been amazing. We are working hard to stay ahead of the curve and I’m working equally hard at preparing for our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony here in Lakewood, Colorado tomorrow at 4:00pm. We’re decorating the office as we speak and the list of fun and goodies is just fun to think about!

It feels like a Mission Repair birthday party in here, but that's not actually until April!

It’s Vacation time! We know, because the RV’s are pulling up at the office.

Hello friends,

We’re in the heart of vacation season here at Mission Repair…It’s obvious. We’ve even seen full-size RV’s pull up and wait for iPhone repairs to be done. It’s a serious thing when your iPhone is broken and you’re sitting the back of the family truckster with nothing else to do but play “iSpy”. Which was a family favorite for me as a kid because we didn’t have portable electronics!

For everyone that is on the road (we had one family stop in from Texas this week to bring in their iPad) and remember that there is no appointment necessary 😉

Travel safe…and remember that if you are on the road this weekend that it’s Father’s day so make sure that dad gets a break from the wheel. Take him to breakfast and then get him to a hot tub at the next stop. He’ll appreciate it.

Speaking of Father’s Day, we will be sending out our Father’s Day newsletter later today with some awesome specials, so stay tuned and check your email inbox shortly!

Thanks…I wonder what Father’s Day has in store for me? Kids, are you reading this?

Have a good day, Ryan

Duck, duck, GOOSE!

Hello friends-

Tayler (you might have met her working at Mission Repair Express) was managing the front desk yesterday and saw a large bird walking by the front window…only to be followed by an entire army of geese that were apparently unafraid of the traffic, construction and people that occupy the downtown area of Mission, Kansas!

This is an unusual sight for such a busy street. There are thousands of cars that pass in front of our store each day and it’s not a good place for wildlife in my opinion. These geese were unaware of the apparent danger…either that or they really wanted to do some window shopping in our neighborhood!

Speaking of window shopping, the City of Mission is starting a contest shortly that involves all of the businesses in the shopping district. This will really only apply to our local customers that visit us in Mission, Kansas however if you’re one of the lucky shoppers that enter a drawing (you’ll be able to enter at our shop – Mission Repair Express very soon!) the city will be raffling off $100 in gift certificates to shop in the downtown area every week.

Again, Mission Repair Express will be a “drawing signup location” and there’s no cost to enter the drawing. It’s just for fun and to boost your shopping allowance when you win! More details coming soon about this contest, we’ll be in touch.

Until then, take care, I’ll be back soon.

Ryan

Did You See Us?

Hello Again M:R Nation,

Over the weekend, we had 41 action news of Kansas City come by and interview Ryan about the newly instated Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This act makes it illegal to unlock your phone on your own behalf. You now must contact  your carrier to unlock your device for use on another carriers network.

Lights, Camera, Action!

This law is set for phones that are sold from January 26th 2013 and on. So if you have a smartphone purchased before this date, unlock away! How will they monitor this? We have no clue. What will the penalty be? We have no clue. But to stay on the safe side, I would recommend going directly to your carrier for this service for the time being.

There will be many business and services effected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and we certainly feel for them. Will this Act last for a long period of time? Only time will tell, but until then, stay safe and know what the laws are when dealing with iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC EVO or any other Smartphone software!

Cheers, Troy
