Mission Repair: Mac Tip of the Day!

Hello everyone –

Today, I’d like to share a tip that is focused around a little round, green button. While I really like this one…

The star of the show today is the round green button on any open window you are using, such as email, your browser of choice, or even the calendar.

Looks like this —->  Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 12.04.24 PM

When you see this green dot on your open program, left mouse click and drag the window to the far right or left of your screen. If you have multiple windows, you will now be able to click on the second window and have a split screen. Even better… slide the black line spitting the two windows where ever you like! 50/50 or maybe 60/40? I tend to use it 75/25 with two web pages open so I can copy/paste or get a quick screen shot (shift+command+4) and use it when writing this blog.

I hope once again that you find this tip useful, and you come to know the full power of OSX Yosemite and all its hidden gems!

Have a great day!

Jeff

Love is in the air, and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.  Some people find it difficult to select that perfect gift that means so much.  Candy and roses always seem to do the trick, but you can surprise them with something unexpected. Think of that cell phone or tablet that is always by their side, and if it’s damaged, needs a new screen, or could benefit from some other service: We have a special for you.  Once it’s repaired, every time they look at their trusty smartphone they will always think of you.  Sometimes it’s good to be the hero, and Mission Repair is here to help.

Use coupon code “HEARTS” online or when you visit one of our locations for any new order placed with us.  Coupon code expires 2/14/16 at midnight, so act fast!

Have a great weekend, Ryan

Can you spot the difference?

Good afternoon – here’s something to get your brain working.  Look hard or you might miss it.  What’s the difference between these two pictures of this delicious-looking sunflower cookie?

Well, I took a bite out of it, of course!  In fact, that entire cookie was devoured with ease.  I’m a cookie fanatic/expert.  How do you become a cookie expert?  Years of experience!

I was visiting Dandra’s library one day and found that there was an extra sunflower cookie made by Sara (another teacher) that was calling my name.  Why a sunflower cookie?  Yes it’s cute, but Kansas recognized the sunflower as official state flower and floral emblem in 1903 (the sunflower is also featured on the Kansas state quarter, state flag, and the nickname for Kansas is The Sunflower State.)  Mission Repair’s roots are from Kansas as well!

Did you know that Sunflower heads consist of 1,000 to 2,000 individual flowers joined together by a receptacle base? The large petals around the edge of a head are actually individual ray flowers, which do not develop into seed.  I didn’t know that either!  There’s so much to learn here in the Mission Repair Blog.

I’m guessing that is why these succulent morsels were in the teacher’s lounge.  In any case, this sunflower got “plucked” because it went missing…into my personal sunflower storage compartment 😉

See you tomorrow, Ryan

It’s a little treacherous out there.

Hi there,

I’m sitting here in my front office at Mission Repair in Lenexa, Kansas and the snow just started to fall.  Soon after, I heard lots of sirens and can see the commotion rumbling just down the street.  The weather is starting to hit us, and the freezing rain is really what is causing the issue.  Cars are starting to slide all over the place!

Here’s a pic out into the parking lot as we speak:

I know that it doesn’t look like much, but that little bit of snow on top of the slick roads makes a dangerous situation.   It looks like I should probably put it into 4 wheel drive for a little while unit the road crews get their act together.

We’ve have several people come in during the “mess”.  I want to remind everyone that we are open until 7 pm, and if is suits your lifestyle to wait until the roads as a little better, then I recommend that you hang tight in your warm houses and offices while KDOT gets the plows up and down the highway.  I bet that by 5 pm today it’ll be just fine to move around the area.

Thanks again and drive safe everyone!

Ryan
