Well in this case… the worm is a great deal and fast service!

I hope you all are having a great day today! Here at Mission Repair we are working tirelessly to change the game up and bring more convenience, great service at no added cost. Keeping the same quality and service with no added cost but making sure we are here to fit your busy schedule. We are now open 7am to 7pm Monday thru Friday! Saturdays will remain 10am to 5pm. (I have to let my tech’s sleep in one day a week!) Mission Repair is geared up for summer and we want to offer an “EarlyBird” special for those of you that head in to the office early. Just drop your device off between 7am and 8am Mon-Fri and we will have it ready the same day at no additional cost to you on popular Apple and Samsung smartphones/tablets.

Let us make your early morning drop off easy! Come see us at one of our retail locations starting next week. While we normally charge a nominal fee for same day service, the “EarlyBird” special lets you keep your cash and we take care of your device the same day!

One more added benefit of trusting Mission Repair to be your one stop shop for repairs and accessories for your mobile life!

Look forward to seeing you bright and early Monday morning!

Jeff

PLEASE! It’s worth the effort.

Hello there and good morning friends,

I wanted to talk about another scenario that is worth thinking about when you send your device into us; while we take in mail-in repairs every day from across the USA, there are times that the delivery driver makes mistakes. Take this package that we received recently for example:

No, there isn’t an accordion in this box, there was actually a Microsoft Surface 2 in there that somehow miraculously wasn’t damaged more than expected. A good amount of bubble-wrap took care of that.

But this is a reminder then when you send in your devices, it’s just a good idea to add “replacement value insurance” on your package in case it arrives in worse condition than this one did. We all know that things can happen, and our shipping carriers are not perfect.

Check out out shipping instructions page if you want to see what we really recommend.

I just want to make sure that your repair goes smoothly! 😉

Talk to you later, Ryan

Good news for “older” iPhones! OS 9.2.1

Hello there everyone,

AppleInsider today reported that the iOS 9.2.1 update can potentially make iOS 9 a smoother experience for people with older iPhones, according to a new series of YouTube videos featuring side-by-side comparisons with devices running iOS 8.4.1.

Screen Shot 2016-01-20 at 2.54.29 PM.png

Although installing 9.2.1 still causes an iPhone 4S or 5 to boot slower, once in action the software can load apps as fast or faster than 8.4.1 in many circumstances, according to the article. Boot times are said to be speedier than 8.4.1 when running the software on an iPhone 5s, which was also the first iPhone with a 64-bit processor.

A consistent problem with iOS has been the tendency for devices as little as a year or two old to suddenly see slowdowns after upgrading to a new version. This is despite the fact that Apple will deliberately disable some processor-intensive features on older hardware.

A lawsuit filed last month accuses Apple of misleading customers with the claim that iOS 9 is compatible with devices ranging back to the iPhone 4S. In reality Apple is practicing planned obsolescence, the case charges, since people who update a 4S will take a performance hit but find themselves unable to downgrade to 8.4.1 or earlier — nudging them towards buying newer hardware.

We all know that these devices update and upgrade faster than our contracts allow, so unless you’re one of the few that just simply wants and can afford the newest piece of hardware every 6 months, you’ll want to extend the life of your “old” device for a long as possible to maximize your investment.  That’s where Mission Repair can help, so if you have a problem with your phone, we will be happy to take care of it for you.  If you want to upgrade your software, at least Apple is still helping some of the older units at the moment, enjoy!

See ya, Ryan
