Best of the Mission Repair Blog.

I was going through the insights of my blog tonight as I have been patiently waiting for the 1,000,000 Unique Visitor counter to turn (we need about 200 more at this point), and found that our best blog day was:

Screen Shot 2015-10-13 at 9.02.07 PM

Yes, we had over 31,000 views on a day a few years ago (we average much lower than this per day now) and it was a special day. We had received a frame for an iPad 2…long before the iPad 2 was released…and we posted it here on our blog. Here’s the infamous picture:

ipad frame

And a link to the original article here. We talked about the frame itself, how a MacBook camera fit directly into the slot where a camera would most likely be, and posted it for the world to see. Looking at the picture now makes me thing “that got all of that attention?!?” Well it did bring 31,000 views on that memorial day and crashed our wordpress site a few times so it probably would have been even more!

There’s a little known tidbit that I’ve never talked about regarding this picture. Apple called me directly about it and discussed how and why I got the part and asked if I would take the image down. We had a peaceful discussion about it, it never went any further, and the picture and article remain here posted on the Mission Repair blog today.

I’m bringing this up because since that post a while ago, we have had a steady increase in blog readers, subscriptions, followers and re-posts. Sometime in the next few hours we will reach 1,000,000 Unique Visitors, and I’m going to stay awake for that. You don’t need to; unless you’re trying to win that iPad Air that I’ve been talking about. Then you should grab a cup of coffee and keep watching. It’s going to happen very soon to make today another Mission Repair Blog moment in history.

I’ll be right here, Ryan

Hello everyone,

By now you’ve probably heard that we have a Grand Opening at a new Mission Repair location in Lakewood, Colorado on 2/2/15. The final preparations, marketing and training is happening now! In fact, I need to pack my bags again because I’m heading there tomorrow afternoon!

Screen Shot 2015-01-15 at 4.53.24 PM

It’s true. Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Tampa are on the board and in the works.

We are currently training the new Store Managers at our Corporate Headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. Once they have the skills to perform the day-to-day operations of a retail store, they will be given the keys to the kingdom and grab the helm of their very own location. It’s an exciting time here at the Mission Repair headquarters and we are looking for several more Store Manager Trainees over the next 12 months, so check our Career listings page for openings. You might just want to be part of the Mission Repair experience too!

With all of that being said, we are also offering 10% off your next repair order starting today through Sunday 1/18/15 at Midnight, just use coupon code “MANAGER” to receive 10% off that next repair!

(Coupon cannot be combined with any other coupon or discount including Got Repair benefit. Valid on new orders only, expires 1/18/15 at midnight)

Thanks everyone, have a great night!

Take care, Ryan

iChat- it’s a wonderful thing!

Hello everyone-

With multiple sites operating, and even within my own building, we use iChat with video conferencing on a daily basis here at Mission Repair.

This morning, Albert and Tayler up at our Mission Repair Express Store asked for a short video conference and I snapped a quick screenshot:

Screen Shot 2014-09-17 at 11.07.13 AM

It’s a great way to stay connected to every employee and is truly an efficient way for us to communicate. A decade ago, I might have had to drive up to my other locations to have a “face to face” meeting – but now with iChat and my built in cameras, I can see things and check in on expressions, morale, issues and questions from the comfort of my desk. Thank you Apple!

Of course, there are lots of other video conferencing applications and programs for Mac and PC’s alike; however if your camera isn’t working correctly, you’ve got an issue from the start.

Remember Mission Repair if you find yourself with a failing built-in camera. Mac or PC. In today’s world, a camera seems to be most important (think about your cell phone for example) and is just as valuable in the office. We can solve and repair just about any camera problem that you might be having in our service lab. Keep us in mind.

Until next time, have a great day and I’ll be back soon.

Best, Ryan

Is Your Macbook Pro Retina Screen Cracked?

Hello M:R Nation –

The 15″ and 13″ MacBook Pros with RETINA DISPLAY are the cats meow when it comes to laptops. If you have ever seen one up close or own one for that matter, you know how beautiful they really are. We see then come through our tech benches on a daily basis and while its safe to say that we have yet so see anything naturally fail on these computers, the older they become, the more likely that is a possibility. Unfortunately, user related damage and failure is whole other story completely.

The majority of the issues we see with this computer are screen related. Sure, we will often see coffee spilt on the key board, I/O functions going haywire and logic boards frying, but the usual culprit for the owners headache is a damaged screen.

From the very moment these computers were released, we decided that we were going to repair these! They were too beautiful to ignore and leave hanging in the pits of despair that is accidental damage. Repairs started at a very high price, which is normal for any new device. But over time, the price tag started to get smaller and smaller until we landed on where we are now. $399.00 for a full retina display screen repair!

We offer it for both the 13″ and 15″ models and we are super quick to get it back to you! This is no ordinary screen replacement mind you. We have to actually dig out all of the internals of your display, shards of glass and all, and start from scratch. Installing layer after layer, until the computer is as beautiful and functions just as it did on the day that you first opened it!

We at Mission Repair would be honored to repair your MacBook Pro 13″ RETINA DISPLAY Glass and LCD Repair or MacBook Pro 15″ RETINA DISPLAY Glass and LCD Repair! Just click on those links to get started, or give us a call…lets have a chat about how we can get your piece of design history back in full working order!

13″ And 15″ Macbook Pro Retina Screen Repairs!

Hello M:R Nation –

The 15″ and 13″ MacBook Pros with RETINA DISPLAY are the cream of the crop, the Ferrari, the…well… Apple of the laptop computers. If you have ever seen one up close, you know that they are one of the most beautifully designed pieces of hardware ever created. While I don’t currently use one (I’m going for this new “Don’t buy EVERYTHING Apple releases diet) I see them come through our tech benches on a daily basis. While its safe to say that we have yet so see anything naturally fail on these computers, the older they become, the more likely that is a possibility. Macbook and Macbook Pro Glass Repair!

Hello M:R Nation –

In 2008, Apple introduced a few great machines that go by the names Macbook and Macbook Pro. While the names were not new, the design was completely radical and different. These were the first laptops that Apple produced the a full glass sheet as the screen! These things were and are still some of the most beautiful things created by Apple. There was/is one problem however, that glass that covers the LCD screen happened to be pretty fragile! Misplaced pressure on the screen could have you squinting trough cracked glass very quickly. Thinking back to 2008, we actually had a repair the very first day the Macbook Pro was released!

Apple stayed with this design from 2008 to June 2012 until when the first of the Retina Display models were released. Now, over these 4 years and still to this day, the most prevalent issue we see with a Macbook or Macbook Pro is cracked glass. While it will never causes any major issues with your computer, is sure is annoying! Take a look at this customer unit below:

photo

This is a typical crack on a Macbook/Macbook Pro. It will start on one corner and continue to grow across the screen. You can imagine being a photographer or a graphic designer trying to use something like this. It will be impossible to view your image correctly! That is the same for the Safari surfer and spreadsheet creator as well. When there is a giant crack down the middle of your screen, it is just flat out distracting!

So as we did in 2008… we still do in 2014… repair those pesky broken glass panels with a brand new, crack free replacement! We take the time to remove all of the glass from your macbook and macbook air, leaving behind no trace of the once a tragic accident. We wipe clean all the dust, finger prints and particles that naturally settle on your LCD screen and drop in place a beautiful, clap piece of glass! Let me tell you, if you ever have a chance of seeing this repair preformed, take the opportunity. It is like a dangerous ballet. Flying glass shards gallop towards your eyes for sure!

After all of these years, we still offer these repairs and people are still taking full advantage of our great prices! So if you are finding yourself in this same predicament, click on the following links to get your repair started today!
