Apparently Kansas City took the day off yesterday.

The Kansas City Royals won the World Series for the first time since 1985.

Though the Royals made the World Series last season, that was their first playoff appearance since the 1985 World Series. It’s obvious that Royals fans are starved for something to celebrate.

With the Royals’ World Series parade going through Kansas City yesterday, fans came out by the thousands to celebrate the victory. An incredible overhead shot showed Kansas City flooded with blue and white:

Unfortunately (or FORTUNATELY, depending on how you look at it!) I wasn’t in town for the big event. When I look at that picture all I see is a claustrophobic nightmare that would have left me in a sweaty mess 😉

Fans started lining up as early as 5:00am for the hour and a half long parade that was held midday. I even read that parking was so bad that some fans just left their cars on the highway and walked in to catch a glimpse of a Royals player. I’m sure it was the worst traffic nightmare the city has ever seen. I bet Siri crashed trying to recalculate a better route!

Congratulations to the Kansas City Royals and their win. It is fun being part of the winning city…and there are certainly a lot of blue shirts roaming that area which I’m sure will stay for a while. Good luck next year; and if they win the 2016 World Series, I’ll be sure to miss that parade too.

Take care, Ryan
