Attention, Mission Repair customers!
We’ve got a security update in the works that we wanted to share, and more importantly, describe how it could impact your online experience with Mission Repair.
In a nutshell, the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI-SSC) recently released FAQs ahead of changes to their data security standards. Among their recommendations, the Security Council heavily encouraged hosting providers to upgrade its Transport Layer Security (TLS) as soon as possible.
With security as one of our top priorities, our IT team is currently working to implement this update, so we wanted to provide you with plenty of advanced notice so you can prepare for the upgrade taking place at the end of June. At that time, we’ll be disabling TLS 1.0 and moving to TLS 1.1 or 1.2 so we can continue to exceed PCI certification requirements and ensure all of our customer data remains safe.
What does this update mean for you?
Overall, the impact to your experience on MissionRepair.com is small. The main area to prepare for is in terms of any shoppers who try to access our site using Internet Explorer 10 or lower. These users will still be able to access the site without issue, but will receive an error message when visiting secure pages, such as our one page checkout where you’d type in your credit card information. Please note that a very small percentage of web traffic comes from these older browsers, so it most likely won’t even affect you at all.
Customers and administrators who want to continue using Internet Explorer 10 or lower can easily do so with just a few changes to their browser settings:
-On the Internet Explorer main menu, select Tools > Internet Options.
-In the Internet Options box, select the Advanced tab.
-In the Security category, uncheck Use SSL 3.0 and check Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1, and Use TLS 1.2 (if available).
-Exit and restart Internet Explorer
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we get closer to the end of June. If you have any questions in the meantime, don’t hesitate to contact our Support team for more information.
Good morning, all of the blogs today have been about our Lakewood, Colorado location so it’s time to welcome our newest employee in Olathe, Kansas.
Dylan started just about a week ago in customer service and hasn’t looked back! He’s been on the phones constantly, working hard and learning the business as fast as he can. If you’ve called into our Main Service Lab in Olathe lately, you may have gotten Dylan on the phone. He meets our checklist of a hard-working, team oriented, skilled individual.
I’ve been watching him and he’s making it a priority to answer a ringing telephone first before any other customer service representative. I believe it’s like a game to him, and frankly I don’t even think that the phone is getting a full “ring” in and he’s greeting the customer on the other end. It’s kind of nice! 😉
Well, if you need him his email is “firstname.lastname@example.org“. Welcome to the team…
Hello everyone, I was checking in on my Lakewood, Colorado location and took this screenshot from my phone…the walk-in business is starting to increase at our newest location and anyone that’s in the business knows how important this is. Coupled these customers with our normal “ship-in” repairs that we are diverting to this location, it’s starting to swell up and we need some new amazing employees to start today!
I’m not sure if you read my earlier blog post titled “Calling all Techs!“, but we’re currently interviewing and hiring for immediate job openings at our Lakewood, Colorado location.
If you’re in the area and looking for a great career opportunity within a company that believes in promoting from within (keep in mind that the General Manager of this location started with Mission Repair as a technician!) – send your resume to “email@example.com” for immediate consideration.
He needs you and wants to find compatible employees now.
Thanks, have a great day!
Hello friends, it’s time to announce a new service that we officially launched in March;
iPad Mini 3 Glass and Screen Repairs!
It’s starting to get a little confusing with all of these models, and you might even point out that the iPad Mini, iPad Mini 2 and the iPad Mini 3 all have the same from glass panel. THIS IS NOT TRUE!
The iPad Mini 3 has a different size home button opening in the glass, so you CANNOT interchange these parts between the generations. Just letting those technicians out there in the DIY community know.
These units do not have a fused glass, digitizer and LCD assembly, so if you break one, you don’t have to replace the other. This is unlike some of the other iPad models (like the iPad Air 2) that we can’t simply replace the “glass only”. This is good news for it’s “repairability” and longevity.
The more I blog about these new iPads, the more I personally want one. I’m getting close to pulling the trigger; do I want and iPad Air, or iPad Mini, or just to simply upgrade my MacBook Air which I’m typing on now and have been using for several years? I know that Apple wants me to get one of each 😉
Thanks for reading friends, I’ll be back soon with more Mission Repair info.
