After perusing Facebook last night, I saw a lot of different Halloween ideas for parties and costumes. I really like this holiday, it brings the kid out in me and brings back great memories from my childhood (Nolan and I would head out into the streets with a pillow case in hand and not return home until it was full. The good ol’ days).
This year, we’re taking the Land Cruiser up to Kansas Rocks Recreation Park for some camping and off-roading “scary” fun. The park is set up for 4-wheel drive vehicles but on Saturday there’s a twist. From 7:30pm to 10:30pm there’s a haunted trail ride where we take our trucks into the wilderness with our lights off. The woods are “haunted” with ghouls and monsters that come out from behind the trees and scare the pants off everyone.
It’s something new, it’s my first year of doing this, and I’m looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend. Why not live a little, right?
There’s a lot going on this weekend at the park as well like a bonfire, petting zoo and bounce house for the kids and a costume contest for the vehicles. That’s right, we can dress up our trucks (I have a couple of skeletons that are riding with us!) and we can win prizes and park passes.
Anyway, I didn’t know if you had plans this weekend or not, but we’ll be out camping next to the haunted woods if you’re looking for something fun to do on Saturday if you’re in the area!
What Halloween plans are in your future?
Take care, Ryan
