Just so you know – we will be closed Monday.

Hello again friends of Mission Repair –

MemorialDay

In observance of Memorial Day, Monday May 26th, 2014 Mission Repair will be closed. We will be open on Saturday and Sunday prior to the holiday, and we will be back in the office on Tuesday. You can see our store hours here.

Memorial Day is a US Federal holiday wherein the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces are remembered. I have had several family members and friends serve over the years, and we honor them all. All that I can say is “THANK YOU” for what you have done, I don’t have anything but the utmost respect for the brave men and women that help protect our country.

With that being said, it’s hard to say “Happy Memorial Day”. It should be more of a “Let’s Celebrate Memorial Day” holiday and we will do just that.

I hope you get a chance to spend some time with your families…I will. Have a great weekend.

Sincerely, Ryan

Cinetopia, Indeed!

Hello M:R Nation –

If you know me in the slightest or read my posts, you know I’m a huge movie nerd. I have been frequenting midnight openings for years now and the older I become, the more difficult yet rewarding the experience becomes. Once you throw kids and early mornings at the office into the mix, you ask yourself, “is it really worth staying up this late for a movie?” The answer for me, is always an unequivocal YES.

While I’m not always the most productive after one of these long nights, its well worth the lack of sleep to just be apart of the theater experience on an opening night. Even if the movie is less than great, just to be around a like minded group of people that have a passion for cinema is spectacular! The “oohs” and “aahs” throughout the movie and the likely applause (if the movie is epic) at the end just give me goose bumps.

Last night, I had another great experience while attending the opening for X-Men: Days Of Future Past! Not only was the movie epic, the venue was something to behold.

Kansas City, which happens to be the world headquarters for AMC, has welcomed a new player in the theater business: “Cinetopia”. This is a great, small outfit out of Washington State that has opened their doors for the first time in the midwest, and it looks like they are after AMC blood with the amenities and technology that they are offering to their patrons.

If you find yourself with nothing to do over this Memorial day weekend, I highly recommend seeing “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” and if you’re in the Kansas City area why not see it at this great new theater.

P.S. We have some pretty great specials for you over this holiday weekend, so If you find yourself in need of a repair service, make sure to stop this other great small business we know of called “Mission Repair“!

Cheers, Troy

School is out!

Hello friends, school is out!

Well it is here in Kansas anyway. My daughter Tayler finished her second year of college this week and she’s on her hiatus until the fall. My son Casey finished his Junior year of high school and shot me a text yesterday at 11:36am saying “I’m done!” It’s also apparent as several of our customers this morning had their children with them when visiting us here at Mission Repair- Summer Vacation is upon us. My wife Dandra who is an Elementary school librarian, is officially on Summer break today at noon. Yup, I’m a bit envious.

We don’t get to take summers off here at Mission Repair 😉

I spoke to my oldest friend Nolan who still lives in California and he said that his kids are still in school for a couple more weeks…so it’s just starting to happen around the country.

This means summer vacations, BBQ cookouts, family time and nice weather (hopefully) for the most of us, with thoughts of splashing in the water – that just sounds good.

Personally I’ve got “boating” on the mind and we’re jazzed up to get some sunshine soon. This Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of summer for a lot of us and as of right now it appears that I have 3 days off without anything planned which is a first! We all need to take a break from time to time.

Whatever your plans are I hope you spend a little time enjoying your weekend. We have a great newsletter going out this afternoon with a special attached for anyone that might need our services over the weekend; so stay tuned and have a great day.

Take care, Ryan
