Good morning folks,
Just a quick blog because I got some pictures from my backyard last night that I wanted to share. It’s not often that you get to see wildlife up close and personal in Spring Hill, Kansas.
In fact, I’ve seen deer, armadillo, turtles, snakes and raccoons scurrying about the landscape, across highways and in the ponds near our house from time to time. But I’ve never seen a raccoon stand his ground like this little guy did last night!
My German Shepherd, SHADOW, was on high alert and ready to rumble. I’m not sure if he was fully aware of the fury that was lurking just outside of that fence!
There wasn’t much fighting, but there’s no doubt that my dogs were frothing at the mouth to get outside of the fence and “play”. I’m not sure if the word “play” is totally correct, but you can imagine what might have occurred – the interesting part was that the raccoon didn’t budge..even when I got within 2 feet of it to take these midnight pics!
So rather than wait for my dogs to “disassemble” this cute little guy I took them inside and waited out the experience. By the end of the night he was no longer there and my dogs were able to calm down and I got to sleep at about 2am – after spending time in the “wild wild kingdom” outside of my house!
Since this blog is just a personal experience, I’ll be back with some business info soon!
Take care, Ryan
