Ok, this is a quick follow up to my post yesterday. Yes, I’m still an Apple Authorized Macintosh Technician. When I woke up this morning I thought that it was all a dream. Nope! Still certified, whew! I’ve been working on Macs for 14 years, and I finally certified myself (truth be told, I only needed a quick refresher course).
Here at Mission Repair, we’ve organized a study and mentor group so that ALL of our employees that are not currently Certified are in the process of, and will be Apple Certified Macintosh Technicians. Pretty cool!
Congratulations today to Kyle who passed his tests this afternoon. Very nice, now he’s a real expert. Send him an email and give him a challenge question, I promise that he’ll answer it correctly.
OK, moving on we are super busy today and I’m trying to get out of here at a “normal” time so that I can be with my family. My son, Casey, is in 6th grade and they have their first school dance tonight. I can’t miss this one!!

Hello there, and happy Halloween. We just finished a gourmet breakfast of scrambled eggs, french toast, bacon and orange juice to start off our day here at Mission Repair. It’s nice to get together as a group and share a meal, even when it’s at the office. I have to admit, having the lobby smell like bacon is an extra special treat! If you hurry, come on down and see what I mean. I’m not kidding around here!

Well, I just got back from completing my testing, and yours truly is now an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician! I’ve completed my exams and my diploma should arrive in a few weeks. My new certification now compliments the other techs here at Mission Repair and we proudly proclaim that we employ Macintosh Certified Technicians. This is an honor.
It’s actually quite an investment between the Apple Study materials, the extensive “self-taught” knowledge and then the tests themselves aren’t “cheap”. Actually, it’s a small price to pay to give our customers just one more “peace of mind” when shopping at Mission Repair. We are knowledgeable, friendly and can perform professional MacBook and iPhone Repairs. We’ve been trained by the best in the industry!

Well, I’m in the middle of the day pounding away on my keyboard and in walks a customer to have his iPod repaired. After a few minutes, I over-hear Ann up front taking his order. To my surprise, it’s Damon Huard. Quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs! Since we’re just south of Kansas City, it was a cool surprise to our Tuesday afternoon.
I walked out of my office to meet him and shake his hand (which is injured) but he gave a “man’s” handshake anyway. Unfortunately he’s out for the season with an injury which is one reason that the Chiefs have had some issues this year. ‘Tis the nature of the game.
We got to talking a little bit about the Chiefs (they’ve had better years for sure) but this guy was very nice and was very humble. Cool dude that was just out looking to get his 4th Gen U2 iPod Repair done. We took care of him and wished him luck. It’s just not every day you see an NFL Quarterback walk through your doors, you know? It’s kinda like he came over to my house. I feel special 😉

I just had to shoot a quick blog about this. We received this customer iPhone 3G in for repair and it’s by far the worst cracked digitizer that I’ve seen. I mean, this thing must have slid on the pavement or something.
Just had to share. It’s an impressive break. The even more impressive part? The phone still works! All it needed was our 24 hour digitizer glass screen repair and this customer is back in the chat.
